“Great hotel, great people”
We loved this hotel - it's so close to everything and the room and service were great. Our flight into Florence was canceled and we missed the first night of our reservation. When I called the hotel to inform them, they were nice enough not to charge me for the room that night. What a pleasant surp… more
We loved this hotel - it's so close to everything and the room and service were great. Our flight into Florence was canceled and we missed the first night of our reservation. When I called the hotel to inform them, they were nice enough not to charge me for the room that night. What a pleasant surprise. The view from the top of their tower was splendid. I would stay here again, for sure!

“Location, location, location!”
Just perfect for short walks to many restaurants, museums, fine shopping, etc. 10-minute walk, 5-minute taxi to central S.M. Train Station. It’s expensive but…location, location, location… Superb breakfast spread and helpful English-speaking staff.

Hotel Torre Guelfa is a great hotel. The location is central, on a quiet street away from the crowd, but just around the corner from most sites like the Ponte Vecchio and a five minute walk from the Uffizi. The hotel offers good value compared to other 4 stars I’ve tried on previous trips to Florence. We had room 21 which was located up the lift, and then down a set of stairs in the annex. Thankfully, we accepted the assistance of the bellhop who helped us with our bags and showed us the way. Our room was modern and surprisingly spacious, quiet at night, was equipped with two separate showers, and had a small seating area that had what I guess was a sleeper sofa that we didn’t use. The room also had two separate air con units that housekeeping thoughtfully left on so our room was cool after a day of touring in the summer heat. Housekeeping was also thorough and made sure we had a fresh supply of thick fluffy towels every day. The highlight of our stay was the buffet breakfast and the staff. Vivian and her team were welcoming and made sure we were spoilt for choice with fresh eggs, a variety of fruit, an amazing assortment of pastries, and delicious made to order cappuccinos. We recommend this hotel.

Great location, near Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria but quiet. Approx 20 minute walk from the station. Room itself was compact and bathroom tight but functional, clean and had character. Breakfast was a good buffet in an impressive room. View from the tower was panoramic and spectacular at night although beware of the climb if not good at heights! Concierge and reception service was excellent.
