I chose this hotel as it was central, convenient for the tram link to the airport and the price was affordable. I travel solo so had booked a single room. The room appeared fine at first, it is an old building so I was not expecting all modern conveniences but there could be some improvements, such as a larger table / desk in the bedroom as everything was very cluttered. There was a mini fridge and safe in wardrobe but neither worked. Someone came to sort the safe out on two consecutive days but it was still faulty so I abandoned using it. There was air conditioning which I did not need, and a hairdryer. I could have requested an iron if I needed one. There was also a kettle etc in the room, which took up most of the very small table provided. There was a large TV on the wall showing several English language news programmes but not much else in English. However the WiFi in my room was very good so I could watch films on my iPad and listen to my podcasts. The shower in the shower room was very small but there were large, new towels provided. Hot water took a while to arrive but when it arrived it was consistent. The communal areas of the hotel were lovely. This is where breakfast is served and there is a small bar open in the evenings. There are some historic friezes on the wall in the small inside restaurant and great ceilings. There was a small seating area at the back of my room which was adjacent to the back of the restaurant and bar, so there was some noise escape when I was trying to sleep but not enough to keep me awake. One of the best things about the hotel was the staff, they could not have been more helpful and polite, from the reception staff, the cleaners and the breakfast room team. If I visit Florence again I would stay here again

“Beautiful hotel. Great location”

We relocated to this hotel due to the heat experienced at a Airbnb rental which AC wasn’t performing. They sent a maintenance guy who looked at it and stated the compressors for the AC were hidden in a compact area and there weren’t enough circulation. We relocated to this hotel due to the heat experienced at a Airbnb rental which AC wasn’t performing. They sent a maintenance guy who looked at it and stated the compressors for the AC were hidden in a compact area and there weren’t enough circulation. We decided to move and checked into Palazzo dal Borgo This hotel is beautiful and elegant. We stayed in room #3 which was spacious for a family of 4. Unfortunately, the air conditioner wasn’t cool as well as it may be too small for the size of the room. The hotel provided a fan which helped a little. The breakfast was wonderful and the staff/service was excellent . I would have given a 5 if weren’t for the AC.

We had a nice stay at the hotel - it was in a good location in central Florence. The staff were friendly and helpful, the continental breakfast was good and it was generally pleasant place to stay. The bed could have done with being more comfortable (mattress a bit hard and only given one fairly thin pillow each) but otherwise room was pretty decent. Air conditioning worked well which was necessary. Would happily stay again.

First the positives; this hotel is in a great location, the staff are very friendly and helpful and the reception, breakfast area and the courtyard and public areas are very nice and charming. The breakfast is also fine, nothing extra-ordinary but adequate. The negatives? We stayed in the so called Junior Suit, which though spacious, looked nothing like the photos on the website. The whole room needs a revamp, perhaps starting with the peeling wall papers in the bedroom and the hallway as you enter the room? One of the rooms in the suit (my room) was a Wi-Fi blind-spot, so I had to either go in the the other person's room or to reception downstairs to use my laptop and phone, something I wasn't expecting to have to do in 2024 in a 4 star hotel in Florence. I did report it to reception who appeared surprised but I can't be the first person to experience this. This hotel could be so much better after a soft refurb and better Wi-Fi!
