“Prefect, in the centre of Florence 🇮🇹”
We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We were really pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Set in a busy part of Florence, so close to everything 🩷 (but away from any noise) Initially we thought our room was small and old fashioned, however it was very clean, comfy beds and bathroom has just been decorated to a high standard. Breakfast was good enough to set you up for the morning . Top Tip - If the reception staff give you a voucher to their sister hotel for the rooftop bar for cocktails… go… the views and cocktails are incredible.

“Great Place to Stay!”
We had a great stay at Hotel Maxim Axial! The hotel is right near the busiest areas of Florence, so it had great walkability! We didn't have to take any type of public transportation/taxis when we were there. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel breakfast was great! They had a lot of variety… more
We had a great stay at Hotel Maxim Axial! The hotel is right near the busiest areas of Florence, so it had great walkability! We didn't have to take any type of public transportation/taxis when we were there. The staff were very friendly, and the hotel breakfast was great! They had a lot of variety. We stayed for three days, but we didnt have any room service for those days. The cleaning staff did come by of course, but they came each day at 9:30 AM when we were still in the room. I would suggest that they have room service come a little bit later in the day to give people time to be out and about. Overall, it was a great stay, and we would definitely come back in the future!

This hotel was in the perfect location. Short walk from the train station, close to many attractions, and in the center of the nightlife. Delicious restaurants nearby and shopping. The breakfast was a selection of pastries, breads, yogurts, and drinks. There is AC in the rooms but only available certain times of the year. Able to open the window for a cool breeze, but quite loud outside.

I'm going to be honest - I read some of the reviews of this place on my way to staying there, and I was pretty nervous about it, but once we checked in...it wasn't so bad. Not the worst. But here is my brutally honest opinion after staying 5 days here: Pros: - Location is very close to the Duomo and museums....literally 500 feet away. So if that's what you're going for, then this is the place for you. It's also pretty central to everything around Florence, so it's easy to walk to places. - The rooms are clean, which is very important! - They do offer breakfast with a wide array of items. - The staff are friendly and helpful. Cons: - Outdated. I read reviews about this, and I definitely agree. The place/room wasn't SO outdated that it would deter me from staying there, but you can tell the hotel hasn't been updated in decades. The place smells very old, and the bed was fine to sleep in, but it was so worn in that my side of the bed had sunken in - I was still able to get a good rest though. Not a deter - just something to be aware of. - The bathrooms were clean, however, our shower drain was so clogged up that I had to take camp showers (turn the water on and off) because it kept overflowing. I mentioned it to the staff, so hopefully they got that fixed. - Location: As I mentioned before, this hotel is very central to everything. Because of its proximity to the Duomo, we got blessed with insane crowds outside of the hotel, so it was a pain to leave the area. I will say, this didn't affect our sleep, as we weren't bothered by the sound. But it was just annoying to try and eat somewhere near by because everything is a tourist trap. But I will admit, this was our own fault. We didn't know the area that well and should have done more research on the location. If I were to do this differently, I'd probably pick some where on the other side of the bridge, which was much chiller and more spots to enjoy the peace of Florence. - Breakfast: It was honestly fine. Just reminded me of breakfasts you'd get at a Marriot in the states. Not impressive - just fine. - The water bottle in your room: Just check it before you drink it. I'm a weirdo when it come to koodies, so I always check this stuff, and I'm glad I did. As many know, getting water at restaurants in Europe isn't the same as it is in the states, so I was so grateful the hotel offered this. However, upon viewing the water, it was clear they hadn't changed that bottle for some time as there was yellow mildew floating around the bottom of the bottle. Just something to be aware of...
