“Nothing special but the location is a huge bonus”
The Martelli is situated in a renovated old building and while it doesn’t offer much in terms of services, it is a fairly reasonably priced option halfwqy between the Santa Maria Novella train station and Firenze’s Duomo. The Martelli is situated in a renovated old building and while it doesn’t offer much in terms of services, it is a fairly reasonably priced option halfwqy between the Santa Maria Novella train station and Firenze’s Duomo. Most rooms are rather simply furnished and don’t offer much in terms of views as the building is in a densely populated residential area of the city. The breakfast has all the Italian basics but there are also numerous bars just next door which open early and offer even better morning cappuccinos and cornetto.

“Dated and basic.”
The hotel is a 5mn walk to the train station, its location is very central. It is a place that needs to be "refreshed". We had a very early check out and unfortunately there was no option to be looked after with even a quick breakfast, and we had paid for a bed and breakfast, so it was a bit disapp… more
The hotel is a 5mn walk to the train station, its location is very central. It is a place that needs to be "refreshed". We had a very early check out and unfortunately there was no option to be looked after with even a quick breakfast, and we had paid for a bed and breakfast, so it was a bit disappointing, I know of similar situations where an effort was made to accommodate. Price wise, it was acceptable.

“Affordable Florence hotel”
Affordable hotel in a great location. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the hotel is a maze of corridors and elevators, the rooms are good size but bathrooms need some renovations. Our shower was over the bath which was too narrow to accommodate standing safely. Also bathroom doo… more

Our shower was over the bath which was too narrow to accommodate standing safely. Also bathroom door was water damaged so difficult to close.
