“Good hotel”

Great location, really close to the train station. Around the corner is a pedestrian street with lovely bars and restaurants. The room was nice and big and at the back of the hotel as requested so very quiet. Efficient checking and out. Roof bar is fine.

I was worried about our stay here as some reviews were not kind. On arrival, our room was not ready but we could leave luggage and were offered water and a pastry which was much appreciated. The reception staff were polite and friendly throughout our stay. My sister and I had requested a twin room on a high floor, but were given a double on the first floor. The reception staff quickly changed our room for us. The room was small but very clean and the housekeepers kept the whole hotel clean on a daily basis. We did only have four coat hangers for the wardrobe, we asked for more but never got them, no big deal though. The location is good, minutes walk from everything you would want to see. It is noisy but it's a city center hotel so noise is to be expected. The breakfast was always plentiful and the restaurant clean and tidy. I personally thought it was a nice hotel, value for money, clean, tidy and comfortable and would recommend.

The best part about this hotel is its location in the heart of Florence's historic center, so you can practically walk to most of the major tourist attractions from here. The best part about this hotel is its location in the heart of Florence's historic center, so you can practically walk to most of the major tourist attractions from here. Rooms are average with an old vintage feel, but the bathrooms need better maintenance. The drains don't flow and there was a smell of sewage throughout the hotel lobby and the rooms. Breakfast was a decent Continental spread.

“Convenient hotel, but take earplugs in case your room is near the neighbouring bar.”

I took my 15yr old granddaughter for a long weekend to Florence and we were given a large, high ceiling room with two single beds made up to a double bed, not a problem for family but could be awkward for others. The only toiletry provided was hand soap on the sink and in the shower. Air conditioning was not cool enough for my granddaughter. We stepped out of the shower between the bidet and toilet, then over the toilet to find a place to stand to get dried. The room, 112, was opposite a bar which was noisy but fortunately, we’d both taken earplugs so not too much of a problem. You can’t blame the hotel for a neighbour’s noise but we mentioned it at reception and they are aware of the problem but there’s not a lot they can do. We were speaking to other people who were there for a week and they were on the 5th floor with a balcony. Maybe the longer you stay there, the higher up you go, away from the noise, or is it the UK holiday company that only pay a low rate??? On the plus side, the staff were lovely, helpful, pleasant and someone was on reception 24 hrs. Continental breakfast was good, plenty of choice and the rooftop bar and views superb. The room was clean and serviced daily and two bottles of water were provided each day. There were all types of nationalities staying there. The hotel is convenient to use to get to museums, churches, the market and is two minute walk to the railway station and bus stops. There are many lovely restaurants and bars outside the hotel and even with the hotel’s faults, I would stay there again because of the convenience, but would request a room away from the noise.
