“Gem of a hotel in heart of Firenze”
Great find in Firenze. On the main drag, 10 minute walk from the SMN train station and 5 minutes from the Duomo. Unlimited mini bar with Accor account. Special mention goes to Alessandro who helped us make reservations and gave us great suggestions for dining.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The location is unbeatable - Duomo is just around the corner and there are many shops and restaurants in that area. The main train station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) is a few minutes by foot. Great location for sightseeing; we walked everywhere - to Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica, Ponte Vecchio, even to Piazzale Michelangelo. We got upgraded to a Junior Suite and the room was amazing. All necessities were provided (plush slippers, bathrobes), and there was also complimentary still and sparkling drinking water. They also had something like an evening turndown service with someone checking in and leaving candies. We had a very comfortable stay and this was our favorite hotel of the trip. Oh, there was a smell in the lobby, which was probably what some of the other reviews talked about, caused by the city's sewage system, but it didn't bother us at all. We stayed on a low floor just above the lobby and there was no smell in the room.

“great location, great staff”
Recommendable hotel: Great location and a very friendly, dedicated and professional staff. Special thanks to Valentina at reception and to the very nice lady who serviced the breakfast restaurant, during our stay. We had a great time and will surely come back.

Hotels are costly and shopping for them in absentia can be a nerve wracking experience. A good review is designed to help prospective guests make as informed a decision as possible while offering both deserved praise and criticism for the property. The Hotel Cerettani is in a prime location in Florence, footsteps away from the Unita tram and a kiosk that sells the tram tickets via a human being, which tram will take you to the airport in just over 20 minutes. It's also an easy walk from Santa Maria Novella central train station. Many restaurants can be found away from the main site closest to hotel, the Duomo. I was greeted on my arrival and swiftly checked in by the very lively, warm, smart, and attentive, Stefania who, having taken note of all my pre-arrival requests, showed me to my room and even presented an alternative option if all was not to my satisfaction, which it absolutely was. My second floor interior facing room was utterly silent at all times, save for the sound of the church bells, which do not ring during the night. The high ceilings and gorgeous interior design features (headboard, mirrors, flooring, banquette, black out curtains, tables, chairs, and lamps) of the room impressed me greatly, as did its wonderful commodiousness, with a separate space between the bedroom and bathroom containing a bar and fridge station and cabinetry; hence three doors in all. The fridge, with a daily free supply of soft drinks and water was appreciated. I had trouble using the espresso machine but would have received help if I wanted it. The bathroom was truly stunning with adequate surface space for toiletries and lots of racks and hooks to hang high quality freshly laundered smelling towels (I strongly support the hotels eco conscious efforts). The showers were superb. I cannot give the highest marks to the beds and bedding. The spring basedmattresses, with some foam topping were not quite reflective of a four to five star hotel though offering adequate comfort and support. One bed needed to be changed on the second night because it was significantly more worn than its partner but this was carried out swiftly in the morning. The natural fibre pillows were mostly feather with only some down and this is the reverse and inferior materials ratio than was expected. The blankets were of similar quality-perhaps a few points better. The sheets were fine. A few other minor points of criticism go to lighting and television. If for no other reason than energy conservation, one should be able to independently control all the levels of lighting in the room between the mini bar and cabinet area and the bedroom. One could have the night table lights on or off with all the rest either all on or all off. Thus a large lamp and overhead light would both need to be on simultaneously, where only one would suffice. Perhaps the lights needed servicing in my room alone-not sure. Light switches, however, were easily accessible. Finally, the television selection could have been a little broader, with not one channel in a language other than Italian. A major point of concern was whether I would have the desired climate control features in the room (temperature and ventilation), but I was happy to say that during the day-time, when temperatures reached around 21C, the hote still its AC enabled in the rooms and the system was quiet, very effective, and easy to use. A good space heater was also readily provided. I remain in the dark as to what outside temperature causes the switch to heating and would insist on clear confirmation before a return visit. Daily buffet breakfasts were of of fairly broad selection, delicious, and very well laid out, with swift but never overbearing supplementary table service. Finally, I found the service at the hotel broken down to front of house staff, housekeeping, and the dining room to be outstanding and highly personable. A special thanks to Alessandro, Valentina, and Tawfik, for their warmth and prompt helpfulness at the front desk. All the housekeeping staff also did a wonderful job and promptly answered every request. And the young Kiara and Delfina were highly attentive and friendly without, as said, being obtrusive at breakfast-always full of smiles and grace and charming conversation. I will remember you all with great fondness. The common spaces in the lobby and dining room were also beautifully designed and with sumptuous furnishings making for a nice alternative in which to relax and enjoy an afternoon coffee and pastry-also free to guests. All in all, I was very pleased with my stay at the Cerettani and would return, believing its team to be sincerely dedicated to excellence and a very personal guest experience. This is the real basis on which I awarded a 5 star review. I do, however, think the beds and bedding could stand some improvement, and that greater precision and timeliness to pre- arrival questions such as those relating to bedding and climate control would have been appreciated.

We stayed at this hotel as we wanted to stay in an Accor Property and the other Accor Hotel (Mercure Central) close to this one was sold out. This Hotel is very close to the train station as well as to the tourist spots which can be accessed by foot from here. There are a lot of eateries around the Hotel too. We arrived at the hotel at 12 PM and were informed that we had come early as the check-in was at 2 PM, which we were aware of. We waited in the lobby right up to 2 PM, but the room wasnt ready. We were then asked to go to a hall where there was some water, coffee and snacks while the room was getting ready. We finally got the room at 2.40 PM ! What was disappointing was the coldness with which the senior person at the front desk responded. There just didn't seem to be any urgency to ensure that the room was ready on time, forget before time. It was as if we were being done a favour by being allotted a room. Anyways - the room was excellent with all the required amenities and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom and shower facilities were also excellent. It was a little cold so we asked for a heater and were provided one. I was a little surprised though, as hotels as premium as this usually have a digital setup where one can set the temperature in the room. We asked for an extension for checkout by an hour given that our train to Pisa was in the afternoon but we were informed that the hotel was full so the room had to be provided by us at 12 PM only. The hotel staff was kind enough to allow us to sit in the lobby after checking out after which we used the subway to the train station. All in all a good stay with a few hiccups. Special thanks to young Valentina for being very customer focussed and always responding with a smile. Other front desk staff were a little stiff.
