“Fifth Time here”

Location ambience comfort and a quiet street. I can not expand to much. Florence is a unique hotel market. These large rooms in a palace are tastefully and comfortably remodeled. Front desk staff area wonderful guides and friends. Breakfast is fresh and delicious and… adequate Each room has a view and high floor accommodations on Borgo Sant’ Apostoli are quiet, We have stayed there 4-5 times over ten years and appreciate the comfort US tourists like to share rooms, so there are extra beds instead of sofa. The elevator starts at the second floor and may be challenging for large folks with luggage but the bellman manages that. It is Florence, not Orlando folks.

“Lovely trip”

Hotel Alessandra is nestled on a quiet street away from the throngs of tourists. However, it is ideally located withing a short walk to the Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio and Piti Palace. The hotel is located on the upper floors of the building, and its rooms are quite spacious, compared to most European three-star hotels. We really enjoyed getting to know the hotel staff, particularly Monti, who was extremely friendly and helpful.

We absolutely loved Hotel Alessandra. From the minute we arrived at this beautiful, classic, Florentine mansion, we were welcomed like family. Our room was large and lovely with high ceilings and even a small balcony overlooking the street. The room, including the large modern bathroom, was absolutely spotless. The beds were extremely comfortable. In the bathroom, the shower was large, with high water pressure. All amenities, including very large towels, were generously provided. The location could not be more perfect. Safe, secure and right in the heart of Florence. Easily walkable to everywhere. I should mention that you have to climb a flight of stairs to catch the small lift to the hotel check-in, but we did not find this a burden. The most wonderful thing about Hotel Alessandra, however, is Andrea and his amazing staff. They were so helpful and accommodating. Andrea provided us with a list of excellent restaurants. We were also given a map and quick orientation, taxis and reservations as needed. They were so friendly, with a quick sense of humor and great kindness. We so enjoyed getting to know them. When we return Florence, we will be excited to again stay at Hotel Alessandra.

“We were a little disappointed ”
Picked this hotel based on Rick Steve's recommendation and reviews. It wasn't a bad experience but our least favorite of the 4 hotels on this, around Italy trip. Room was especially sparse. Can't control air conditioning in room without having the counter person come ( who was very pleasant). M… more
Picked this hotel based on Rick Steve's recommendation and reviews. It wasn't a bad experience but our least favorite of the 4 hotels on this, around Italy trip. Room was especially sparse. Can't control air conditioning in room without having the counter person come ( who was very pleasant). Mosquitos are a problem in Florence. No screens. There is a very steep 3 floor climb to front desk. You can take the 2 person elevator after 20 steps. Push button for second floor.
