“Amazing employees”
We had a wonderful stay! The hotel has a well-conserved and clean vintage decoration, making us travel through time. They serve a great breakfast. And mainly, they have really helpful employees, especially Cristiano and Roland. I recommend.

It took a little time walking from the main train station to find the Morandi on an unassuming side street in The Duomo neighborhood but once inside this beautiful deconsecrated convent transformed into a hotel we were quite pleased. The lobby/sitting room was warm and inviting, The manager of the day seated at a large desk adjacent to the sitting room was friendly, gracious, and extremely knowledgable about Florence, and spent a fair amount of time with us reviewing a custom map he used to make us sure we visited all the right spots and how to get there, and how long. He was right on with all his recommendations. The "convent" rooms were comfortable though "intimately compact". We had enough room and the bathroom adequate, though we've noted in Italy shower stalls are somewhat small. Our room had a beautiful courtyard entered through an exquisite stained glass door. An unexpected pleasure is the modest wood-paneled breakfast room where the kitchen staff prepared wonderful satisfying breakfasts to order. Location, when we realized where we were was excellent. Less than 10 minutes to the Duomo and Piazza, same to the museum housing the David, 15 minutes to several fine restaurant areas, 20 minutes to train station or Central Market, 25 minutes to Ponte Vecchio, and the longest walk, about 45 minutes to the Piazza Michelangelo across the Arno and up a long but manageable hill, worth the trek for the spectacular views of the city. A fine place to stay on a visit to Florence.

We had a very nice stay: the staff was very polite, and we really liked the room which also had a little private patio. We especially enjoyed the breakfast: they have this breakfast room with wooden ceiling, soft classic music in the background and beautiful furniture. The breakfast is served at the table, it is not buffett, and we really appreciated this: this way the breakfast room was always calm and relaxing. The breakfast itself is quite generous: cappuccino, fresh fruit, slice of cake, eggs and bacon and much more. We recommend this hotel, and hopefully we will be back one day!
