This hotel was in a perfect location in the more touristy area of Florence, which we chose primarily for its proximity to the train station, since we had several bags. The desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our stay! The bed was very comfortable and the room and bathroom were both relatively large by European standards. The cleaning staff did a great job too. Our only complaints were: 1) the rooms were extremely hot (we kept the window open as much as possible), but that seems to be the norm for Italian hotels in November; and 2) the room had a great view of the city but didn’t seem to be noise-proofed very well (we heard a ton of street noise all night, probably partially due to the location). Nevertheless, we really enjoyed the great location and staff, and we’d happily stay again.

The personel went above and beyond to accommodate our requests for print outs of boarding passes and taxi service. The shower was a bit small for me but that wouildn't be an issue for many others. I rated the sleep quality as average because there was a lot of noise from people in the street in the middle of the night but I realize that is not something they can control.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It's so close to the Duomo and within walking distance to all the tourist attractions in Florence. I walked everywhere and didn't use public transport. I had a problem with my room smelling like bleach or strong cleaning products. I let reception know and they said they won't use a much product on subsequent days. I also kept the windows open to air out the odour. This was fine and it might not matter much to you. While the hotel is good, I wouldn't classify it as a 4 star hotel. It is a solid 3 star place to stay. The room I stayed in (311) was starting to show its age in the bathroom with general wear and tear. I could see they patched over and roughly painted over the bathroom ceilings. The breakfast was okay but the space is a bit tight and there were very limited options. For example, there was no sliced fruit such as pineapple or watermelon. I've been to 3 star hotels with more options. My key card to the room stopped working on the last day and I had to ask one of the housekeepers to let me back into my room so I could grab my things and check-out before noon. Despite my comments, I would consider staying here again due the great location and good staff and experience.
