“A well executed budget hotel”
Perfectly basic- a well executed budget hotel. Clean, pleasant- good shower with hot water, comfy beds and pristine linens and towels Nothing fancy- if you’re looking for a place to rest your head, take a shower and hold your stuff while you explore Florence- then the Hotel Aurum is tops! Perfectly basic- a well executed budget hotel. Clean, pleasant- good shower with hot water, comfy beds and pristine linens and towels Nothing fancy- if you’re looking for a place to rest your head, take a shower and hold your stuff while you explore Florence- then the Hotel Aurum is tops! Not a lot of space to spread out but enough for us, our bags and beds- just what we needed and wanted. Staff is super friendly and breakfast is tasty too.

“Always get a receipt for any cash payment”
Room is small and very basic. There was some sort of repair needed to our room so we were put up in the hotel down the street for one night. Nothing offered for the inconvenience. We needed extra pillows and had to ask several people to get two pillows. The breakfast was good with lots of options t… more
Room is small and very basic. There was some sort of repair needed to our room so we were put up in the hotel down the street for one night. Nothing offered for the inconvenience. We needed extra pillows and had to ask several people to get two pillows. The breakfast was good with lots of options to choose from. One thing that was bad was the payment of the city room tax. We paid the tax one day after we checked in. (70 euro). On checking out they asked AGAIN for us to pay the tax! When paying the tax (which is required to be in cash) ALWAYS ALWAYS get a receipt. The clerk did finally "find our payment record", but this sure was an unpleasant experience.
