First time visitors to the South Tyrol area and part of the most lovely stay possible was the Das Majestic Hotel and Spa. From the rooms (ours was the Alpen Relax) which are stunning with balcony views across pasture over to the cable car base station to the ever friendly and professional staff, the facilities and food it is very difficult to find fault in any way. The breakfast buffet caters for every taste, whilst the afternoon tea was something to behold, a choice of two soups, a salad typically tuna and a hot dish typically pasta based, with a vast array of cakes, coffee and soft drinks available. Evening meals includes a buffet "starter" with fish, charcuterie, cheese, salad and vegetable options followed by choice of one of three entrees and a choice of either a meat, fish or vegetable main course and a set desert although special dietary needs can be catered for. I would say the vegetarian main course options could be improved upon given my partner sampled them twice and on one evening the fish main course, a scallop dish was very poor by comparison to the rest of the week with a pitiful overcooked serving. Other mildly irritating things are charging 5.50E for bottled water at the dining table which happens in some hotels / areas but when you can buy a bottle of good prosecco locally in a supermarket for 4.69E it grates a bit! They have packed lunches available at 8E but be aware the hotel frown upon the practice of taking food out from the breakfast buffet for lunch (maybe a thing for some Brits!?) which also incurs an 8E charge, this is not a criticism just fact as is the fact that the sauna's are an all naked affairs which again many Brits will be uncomfortable with! The indoor outdoor pool is superb with plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. My partner sampled the spa facilities which she said were top class and reasonably priced. Upon arrival you are given a Kronsplatz card giving free transport on South Tyrol transportation and access to a range of museums, the Lumen museum and mountaineering museum up on the Kronspaltz mountain are thoroughly recommended. I have tried to give a balanced review pointing out the vast array of positives over a few minor niggles but bottom line this is a superb hotel in an excellent position a short bus ride from Bruneck / Bronico (well worth a visit) or shuttle ride to the ski station. In addition there are loads of walking / cycle paths to hand and a bus stop more or less outside the hotel. As we left my partner actually had a tear in her eye saying a) she didn't want to leave and b) she wants to come back at some point! Perhaps this best sums up the lovely Das Majestic hotel!

“Great facilities and location”

A hotel with great facilities: from a lovely swimming pool to superb moutainbikes. Rooms are spacious and our bathroom was nearly a ballroom. A hotel with great facilities: from a lovely swimming pool to superb moutainbikes. Rooms are spacious and our bathroom was nearly a ballroom. Breakfast and dinner were delicious with a lovely variety of choice. Staff were the best, always smiling and friendly and our saviours when we got stuck on our hike due to storm dammage. When near Bruneck we will be back!!! ♥️

The main characteristic of this hotel is the professionalism. The staff was very kind and attentive. The breakfasts and dinners were unforgettable. The room was big with pleasant atmosphere. Very big bathroom! The bed was very comfortable. Good location for doing excursions into the Dolomites. We have received "Südtirol card" with which you can travel by bus and train in South Tirol free of charge, and you can enter into many museums also free of charge.

Completely overrated. The property is in the middle of a field, a 5 minute bus ride (free bus passes included) from the town of Brunico (don't bother). The front desk is a disaster. Generally understaffed for the expected quality of the hotel. We were told the room was ready but instead of receiving the key we were told to sit outside (nice weather) withan awful glass of Prosecco. When we were ignored for 20 minutes we tried to find the manager who gave us the key... but the room was not ready. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. The room was not what we had reserved (there is an extensive array of sizes and decors). When we went to inquire, we only then learned there is an afternoon buffet for guests - cakes, coffee, cold cuts. Why we weren't told this defies belief. Breakfasts are not good. Staff had an attitude. We couldn't imagine dinner there - luckily there is a decent Asian restaurant 50m away. The rooms are spacious, and I suspect the spa is the real draw here. But other than that, why would one go?
