“Great staff and beautiful hotel”

Honeymoon stay for one night! Beautiful hotel and staff was so so helpful . Set up a gondola ride for us , made our visit run so smooth. Restaurant was also great, food was so good! I’ll miss the heated bathroom floor, we will be back as soon as we can!!

“Wonderful hotel with great location”

We spent five nights at the St Regis. Our room was lovely. It overlooked the grand canal and had a beautiful balcony. The hotel provided exceptional service, was clean and well maintained. We loved the location for easy walking, water taxis and fantastic views. We would absolutely stay here again.

Most hotels provide a room and facilities to support travelers in a location. Then there are the rare hotels where, if you decide to stay and not leave, you could experience the location. The St. Regis Venice is such a hotel. It is located on the Grand Canal, minutes away from the Piazza San Marco, high-end shops and boutiques and several restaurants. The hotel furnished transportation from the train station to their location via a private water taxi service. Check-in was efficient and very polite, and we did not have to wait for our room. The room was wonderfully furnished with a partial view of the Grand Canal. (This turned out to be a good choice since evenings on the canal can sometimes resemble Party City with accompanying vocal revelry.) The closet was narrow, but the bathroom had a large shower with zero entry and plenty of hot water. Toiletries were a luxury brand and included everything a guest could want. The smart television had a wide array of channels in several languages. Internet service was very good. The St. Regis boasts of its Butler Service and its reputation is well deserved. We lacked nothing. The bar was well furnished with beverages, wines, beer, coffee, tea -- and food! Every time we came back to the room it seemed there was another delicacy accompanied by a charming note. The staff at the concierge desk were knowledgeable and patient with first time visitors to their city. And it Is here that I want to give especial thanks for their creative ideas on things to do during the time we were able to stay. One of their suggestions was an all-day home visit to a chef for market shopping and cooking lessons. It was a very memorable day with A Casa di Giulia (Instagram@venezia_3699) and will be one of those wonderful and memorable experiences that defined our stay in Venice. While there are many excellent and famous restaurants in Venice, the hotel’s Gio Restaurant could match any of them with their menu selections and excellent service for any meal in the day. My title says it all: This is, simply put, the best hotel in Venice. Period.

Fantastic greeting on arrival by water taxi and brilliant the way we were escorted to the check in area. Beautiful hotel and excellent service from front of house including the concierge and the three gentleman who opened the door when we went out or came back. Always friendly and professional at the same time. We stopped in a Grand Deluxe room which was nice but quite small. That’s standard in Venice but the quality of the furnishings and the ambience of the hotel and the room made it OK. If we had criticism to raise it would be in relation to housekeeping, the bathroom and the restaurant menu. We got back to our room a couple of times in the mid afternoon to find the room not serviced. We were there for four nights and that’s a bad hit rate. We went along with the ecological idea of not replacing bed-linen until the 3rd day but ours wasn’t changed at all. We saw that because I spilled some coffee on day one and the sheet was still on the bed on day five. The second was the bathroom which had underfloor heating with no ability to turn down the temperature. It was much too hot 24/7 and meant the bathroom was uncomfortably hot. Finally the dining room menus were not as varied as they perhaps could be. The staff, service and food quality were excellent but we decided to eat elsewhere after a couple of days because the choices were pretty limited. All in all we rated it a fantastic stay but a few minor issues could have elevated the experience quite significantly.
