Having read a review about Venice which recommended buying a good street map I duly bought a 7 Euros map which was really detailed. However, I found that the 2 Euro map available at the ticket booths for the waterbuses was more than adequate and also had all the routes for the waterbuses. I would suggest buying a ticket for the public waterbus for the duration of your stay and then hop on and off the boats at will. The queue for the Basilica is long but moves quickly and well worth a visit. If looking for Murano glass and jewellry visit the island of Murano and see it being made but bear in mind that it is available in all the shops in Venice as well.

“Not as bad as made out by some. ”

A five minute walk from the station and then a ten minute ride to the centre of Venice. Not bad at all for the price that we paid. As long as your able bodied and happy to wander around a town. A five minute walk from the station and then a ten minute ride to the centre of Venice. Not bad at all for the price that we paid. As long as your able bodied and happy to wander around a town. This fits low budget and close to Venice The rooms were clean and well looked after. The staff were all pleasant and reception staff helpful. The breakfast was great and got us ready for the day. The only issue we had was noise through the walls. But what can you do when it's the way that the building is built. On our second night I went and sorted our neighbours at 12.30 am. No problem after that. Good place and good base. If your doing Venice on a shoestring, this is the place.

“Good hotel”

Booked 3 nights on a wowcher break. Ignore the negative comments. This is a 3 star hotel. If you want the Hilton or something similar then pay the extra! Lovely staff. Booked 3 nights on a wowcher break. Ignore the negative comments. This is a 3 star hotel. If you want the Hilton or something similar then pay the extra! Lovely staff. Clean reception, the staff were really helpful. I can't complain about the room. We were on the 3rd floor. Very comfortable bed. Decent bathroom with a bath and lovely white towels. Room had drink making facilities, a safe and a fridge. It was really nice and warm too. Breakfast was good. Plenty of choice. Located only a few minutes walk from mestre station.

We done the wowcher mystery holiday and got given this hotel! Despite what anybody says about it not being in the best location to Venice it really wasn’t that far at all due to the train station right outside! We got to the hotel at 10am and got told we couldn’t check in till 2pm which was fine however we got back from exploring a little earlier and got let in to our room early which was a bonus as we were shattered! The room was fine the beds we comfortable however weren’t keen on the shower above the toilet but that was ok. Our remote for our tv didn’t work and all of a sudden we had no hot water! The next day when we told the receptionist he upgraded us to a different room which was lovely until we realised the door wouldn’t lock and kindly enough he then moved us into another room which was lovely and good enough for a short stay. The Male receptionist who had a blazer and was always in a turtle neck top was the most helpful! We got told off by one of the receptionists on our first night because they didn’t tell us we needed to leave our key at the desk so when we got back we got told off and told we would have no access to our belongings. This would have been a lot more helpful if they just told us that from the start! You get what you paid for with this hotel, it wasn’t a surprise there was no cooked breakfast and the breakfast did not disappoint anyway the lady was always making sure it was fresh and topped up! We didn’t feel that safe in the area at night time there was some strange/dodgy things going on however that’s not the hotels fault that’s just the area we were in.
