Myself and my partner returned home from Venice last week. We stayed 3 nights at the Locanda Novo and we had a fabulous time! We stayed in room 10 which is right at the top. (Probably not suitable if anyone has walking difficulties due to steep stairs and no lift) Yes, the hotel and the rooms are a little old..... but that's what makes this place wonderful! The location is great.. only 5 - 10 minutes from Rialto Bridge and 10 minutes the other way to St Marks square. Breakfast was lovely... just what we needed. You can even have breakfast in bed if you wish. Rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced with clean ones. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the price we paid was great! Well done Locanda Novo! We cannot wait to return to beautiful Venice and stay with you again!

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Locanda Novo....what can we say A*! Location is perfect, 5 min walk from the Rialto Bridge, quiet location just off of the main streets of Venice....a real gem of a hotel. Staff were fantastic, very helpful, rooms clean & the breakfast trays ideal to get you going for the day. Breakfast basket consisted of tea/ coffee, croissant, French toast, bread roll & a selection of preserves ideal for a quick bite to eat before heading out. Hotel had the feel of a real authentic Venetian house, beautifully decorated (some bits dated) but this adds to the charm of the hotel. I think we had room 3 on the first floor (WITH SEPERATE BATHROOM).....NOT AN ISSUE AS THIS WAS PRIVATE AND ACCROSS THE HALL FROM OUR ROOM. I am 6 months pregnant and this really wasn't an issue at all.....why pay more EUR when you need to :-) Perfect stay.....will recommend & come back. WELL DONE LOCANDA NOVO.

We stayed at the Locanda Novo (now called the Hotel Mezzo Pozzo) during Easter 2017 for one night as a pre-cruise stopover. The hotel is great - excellent location - right near the square at Santi Apostoli & surrounded by market stalls, shops & restaurants. It is also only 5 minutes walk to Rialto Bridge & a further 10 minutes walk to St Mark's Square. The hotel is small with no lift, so if you have lots of luggage (like we had) the stairs are quite steep. There was a wheelchair lift to the first floor but really I would think if you relied on a wheelchair you would struggle at this hotel due to it's size. We had a family room which was located on the top (3rd floor). It was basic which we were expecting, but had everything we needed. A double bed & single bed on one room & a further twin beds in another room seperated by a sliding door. The bathroom was clean but the shower head wouldn't stay on the holder which meant you had to hold it in your hands. we didn't complain about it as I found it added to the quirkiness feel to the hotel. Breakfast was Ok - not much of a choice, but enough to get on with - pastries, cereals, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs & toast. I had forgotten to pack a european adapter and although there were tea & coffee making facilities in the room, there was no milk. The lady at reception though was very helpful and loaned me an adapter at no extra charge and also gave me a small jug of fresh milk for our coffee. The same helpful lady gave us a map of venice and pointed out the directions we would need to go in order to get to the main attraction & the nearest water taxi (Ca D'Oro) which was less than 2 min walk away. I would definitely consider this hotel again for it's location although would be inclined to ask for a low floor room!
