Just back to Ireland from fantastic stay in Dell Opera in Venice. This hotel is definitely better than the official 3* and located in very central area just 3 minutes (walking) to St Marks and 5 minutes to Rialto Bridge - also just beside all the designed branded shops - Gucci, Dior, LV, Prada etc. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, providing maps and useful information for our visit. The staff at breakfast were also excellent and provided you with choice of breakfast requests. Breakfast was mostly continental with some cooked egg options but more than enough especially if looking to leave room for the many delicious Italian restaurants for lunch and dinner. The room we had in the hotel ( Room 106 ) was excellent - large with high ceilings and antique furniture and great views from 2 windows overlooking the canal and able to watch and listen to the gondoliers. The ability to travel from the airport via boat right to the hotel is a great advantage. Be careful with other hotels of 3* or 4* with thousands of reviews - many are bought so you need to spend time reading the actual reviews to see what hotels are good - very important if you have travelled from USA or a big distance to be sure of good hotel and good service - this applies to the restaurants as well. Dell Opera was a great recommendation from my travel agent and it did not disappoint in location, room quality and staff service so thank you for a great base to explore Venice and hope to be back again soon.

The nicest people work here. The staff is so cheerful and helpful. I also like that there is an elevator. It is very conveniently located, and is practically right next to the Teatro la Fenice. It has a porto d'acqua, which means that, if the tides don't interfere, you can get a water taxi to pick you up or drop you off right at the front door.

“Great location, great views. Lovely hotel”

Loved this hotel. It’s right by the channel and can catch a gondola from right outside the hotel. It’s walkable distance to everywhere.. the restaurant under the hotel is open till late and has good food. Best croissants, hot chocolate at the bakery down the road .. rooms r big and clean 4 stars … more

Loved this hotel. It’s right by the channel and can catch a gondola from right outside the hotel. It’s walkable distance to everywhere.. the restaurant under the hotel is open till late and has good food. Best croissants, hot chocolate at the bakery down the road .. rooms r big and clean 4 stars since the bathroom does not have a stand up shower and no shower curtains. Atleast we did not have time for a soaking tub experience in the 2 nights we spent here . Not sure if this is an issue with just the room we were in (103) or with all rooms. Other than that, absolutely loved this hotel and the staff.

Great location. Very clean. Liked that there were white bed sheets and not the dark coloured Venetian bedding and walls you often get in other hotels in Venice. Spacious room and bathroom. Great location. Very clean. Liked that there were white bed sheets and not the dark coloured Venetian bedding and walls you often get in other hotels in Venice. Spacious room and bathroom. Efficient and quiet air conditioning. Reception staff very helpful and prompt in answering questions. Didn't hear other guests' noise, except when they were opening doors - when I've stayed in other 3 star hotels in Venice - tiny rooms, noise pollution from other guests, not as clean etc. Would definitely look at staying at the hotel again.
