We stayed in Union Lido for 8 days and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check in was swift and we were escorted by buggy to our accommodation provider, Hu Openair who showed us to our living quarters. We stayed in the Premium L home. It was well equipped, clean and modern with good outside space. It was a little tight for a family of five though it seems the majority of these accommodations are this way. The two showers were great to have particular when getting ready to go out at night. It was also located in an excellent location quite close to both water parks. No issues whatsoever with Hu Openair. Their rates are really competitive also when compared to the other tour operators on site so early booking is advised! In terms of the site, massive credit must be given to the maintenance staff who keep all areas of the park in pristine condition. They are forever trimming branches, sweeping up and yet they don’t interfere with the flow of guests who rumble the avenues daily. I would also have to mention the cleaning staff and the general condition of the washrooms and toilets. On all occasions I used these facilities they were clean and tidy with plentiful supplies of soap and paper towels. Others have mentioned how vast the campsite is. I thought it was really compact and easy to navigate. Everything is also along the two main avenues. We rented bikes for the duration of our stay though I think you would easily manage without. We visited both water parks daily and enjoyed both thoroughly. Aqua Park Marino is more chilled with its pool and lazy river while Aqua Park Laguna offers more thrills with its array of waterslides. Our kids really loved all the slides and happily went from one to the next. Although both were busy, I wouldn’t say they were uncomfortably so. Also the lifeguards weren’t constantly blowing their whistles like was the case in the last campsite we visited. It was really relaxed and generally everyone obeyed the rules. We also visited the spa one morning which was really nice. It cost us €35 which was quite reasonable I thought. The food on site was excellent. There is huge choice amount the 8 or 9 restaurants on site. The cost for our meal each night averaged about €90 with wine and dessert. The kids meals are good value and having the option to choose a different flavour of ice cream went down well with our kids each evening! We particularly liked Vovi for coffee , smoothies and the yogurt bowls while Al Borgo was our favourite for evening meals. Particular credit must go to the staff in all restaurants who are really attentive and take great pride in their work. The entertainment on site was really good. There was music on the stage by the beach one night while some of the bar areas had live music on other occasions. We also attended the acrobatic show which amazed our kids! I really liked how the campsite generally seemed to shutdown around 11:30pm. We didn’t hear a thing despite being positioned very close to one of the main thoroughfares. Added to that, there was no issues with electric scooters like we experienced in a popular site we visited in Spain last year. To conclude Union Lido is a fantastic place for a family holiday and offers so much. So much so that I have already booked again for 2025 when they will have a new water park opened: Speedy Island I think it’s called. It ticks so many boxes and despite there being little to explore outside its gates (with the exception of Venice and surrounding islands) it is self sufficient in every respects. We look forward to our return to this exceptional park.

We stayed in one of the static caravan type accommodation options. We paid the extra for 3 rooms and a slightly better deck which was useful because we got sun all day if we wanted it. We didn't have a sun lounger though which was a shame but that is down to Eurocamp who we booked with, not the site. The site is big but walkable, you will encounter a fair few people on bikes but you don't have to have one if you are ok to walk up to 10 mins from one end of the site to the other. A few things to talk about: The Marino pool is a little small and they don't let you throw a ball around. The lazy river is ok. The Aqua Park Laguna pools are also small and the slides are moderately exciting. The dog park pool is very small but has the bonus of being able to see dogs go into a separate pool which is such fun. In all pool areas it is very hard to get a lounger and even quite tricky to find a bit of space for your family rest time or for one parent to rest and enjoy the sun. We did go at the beginning of the school summer holidays so the site was very busy, close to capacity so we tended to only go for a few hours to each different activity (beach, pool or aqua park) and not bother with sunbathing which is a shame. The pools were always very busy so not a lot of space to move let alone swim which is again a shame. Not saying this as a negative, more as a warning of what to expect. The restaurants on site were good. Vovi is probably the best and also has the most different options (pizza, burgers and pasta can become a bit much so it is nice to have a change). Il Borgo does the best burger; Pizza&Sapori does the best pizza although warning, the Neapolitan base is worth it but filling. Ristorante Al Mare is the restaurant with the best view so recommend booking a table here earlier in the day or a day or so in advance. Beach Bar food is pretty average but again a good spot although the mosquitos gravitate to both these locations so close to the beach. We had a negative experience in Cantinetta Lispida where they served bacon to a vegetarian in our group then took a long time to apologise and even longer to correct the mistake leaving one person eating alone - and then despite the inconvenience and being told they would not, they charged us for the dish, and staff became more rude because we pointed out the error. We did not get argumentative with them and could have been more indignant about a very bad mistake on their part. La Creperia does good crepes. The communal wash / toilet / shower blocks are very clean and well looked after and are very modern. The shops are well stocked and the grocers on site offers a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. Staff were friendly and helpful when checking in and out, and also going to the local market in Cavallino (not really worth the trip). The on site Fun Park (amusements and fair ground) is a little over priced but a good diversion. The gelateries are popular with good ice creams. The beach is nice and clean. You can hire paddle boards or take lessons on the beach. Not sure I would come back but I would recommend this place to families wanting a place with plenty of activities on site.

**Camping Union Lido... where has the time gone from about 15 years ago or more? When there was a stricter regime on the campsite? When siesta really meant siesta. When you didn't have to constantly watch out for speeding cars, trucks, golf carts, bicycles, and scooters? The time when the lifeguards actually patrolled the beach. All day long. Along the waterline and over the breakwaters. Or on the red boats at sea, ensuring our safety. Sometimes even addressing guests about their behavior on the beach, such as playing overly loud music.** **I've been coming here for a very long time, and each year I find myself increasingly surprised. The people... the guests are changing. With the arrival of all the slides and Funny World, you attract a different kind of crowd, and I understand that as a campsite or holiday park, you need to keep evolving, otherwise, you risk falling behind. But has it been an improvement for Union Lido? And for the guests who have been coming here for so many years? I doubt it. I find myself longing more and more for the old days here.** **I'm not an old grump. I also have a young child who enjoys it here. But because I know how it used to be, I often look back on those times with nostalgia.** **And to return to the lifeguards for a moment. In the past, they were men and women with a certain authority and a persuasive presence. Nowadays, they are boys of barely 18 years old with priorities that seem far removed from our safety. Just look at this afternoon on the beach. One boy clearly needed a siesta himself and was safely napping in his tower, while his colleague was monitoring everything on his mobile phone.
