“Beautiful”
The hotel was spacious and beautiful! They had a great breakfast in the morning. I appreciated the accessory kit because it had essentials that I had left at home. The staff was professional and helpful during the entire stay. I would stay there again!

All the housekeeping staff we met were great. Not so much the front of house. That depended on who you spoke to. It's ok for a couple of nights as long as the room is what you expect.

This was one of our hotels in our small group stay in Bologna and Modena (8 of us in the group). We stayed here for one night at the beginning of the tour and 2 later on, so I can review two rooms! I'm not sure what gives this hotel a four star rating if I'm honest, it felt more three star to me. The reception area and hallways are clean, well decorated and smart, quite Italian in style. The hotel is very well located being an easy 5-10 minute walk to the Piazza Maggiore. The rooms I stayed in were both clean although the carpets, especially in the second room, were in desperate need of changing (in the second room, the area around the bathroom door, which was by the room door, was quite literally black with age/use). They were functional but nothing more really, definitely less opulent than the public areas. Both rooms had a single chair, by the desk; in the second room this was too low to sit at the desk and write or use a tablet comfortably! Both rooms had a fridge and the beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were adequate and the showers a good size; the water pressure was much better in the second room than the first! Basic toiletries were provided. The first room was incredibly stuffy and only bearable with the window open; luckily it was round the back somewhere so was quiet. The second was not quite as stuffy, which was fortunate as it overlooked the road and was phenomenally noisy with the window open! The air con blasted out hot air so that was no use for cooling the rooms down. Breakfasts were fine but there wasn't a great deal of choice apart from the obligatory in Italy much cake, and there was plenty of fruit. Teapots were provided for tea! There was a small amount of gluten free food, a good variety of milks - I spotted lactose free dairy, oat, rice and soya - and also vegan cake. I might stay here again, but to be honest I would probably look for another hotel in a similar location.
