Fantastic hotel with very accommodating staff. Food was plentiful and delicious and the kitchen accommodated our dietary requirements very well. Rooms are comfortable, clean and warm - lots of towels and products. Location is ideal, a short walk to Cretaz lift. Really hope to return next year.

We have just returned from a week stay booked via Crystal Ski. This was our first time skiing in Italy and we had a great time. Hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to the Cretaz lift. The Junior Suite room we had was spacious and comfortable with a nice view of the Matterhorn. The ski room in the basement had a nice drying facility to warm boots each morning. The spa area is modest but equiped well enough. Breakfast was great but the evening meal was even more impressive, with a 5 course menu of fine dining quality and presentation. However, the most impressive quality of this hotel was the staff. Everyone from reception to bar staff through to Ernesto, Irene and the restaurant team (special mention to Martina) were very friendly and provided excellent service. Overall, we had a great holiday and would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

We have stayed at the Excelsior Planet almost every year since 2007. This year we made two visits, one with three generations of our family and later as a couple. The quality of the service and food has always been outstandingly good and this year was no exception. The rooms are warm and comfortable - I recommend the junior suites if you like plenty of space. After a day's skiing, we always spent time in the spa area. Once refreshed, the lounge with its log fire and bar service was ideal for a relaxing pre-dinner drink. Children are very welcome, even the youngest (our grandson was 18 months old). When it comes to skiing convenience, it is as good as gets. It is a very short walk to the Cretaz lifts, less than 100m, while the ski hire shop and ski school office are just opposite the lifts. We have had ski holidays in many other places, both in Europe and further afield and really wouldn't go anywhere else.

I'd recommend staying half board as the food is generally excellent. There is a good choice each night, and they will cater for fussy children. I'd recommend staying half board as the food is generally excellent. There is a good choice each night, and they will cater for fussy children. The staff are great, especially Irene in the restaurant, but all work hard and make you feel very welcome. Special mention for the wine waiter who offered some great wines to try out. I don't think our room was as modern as some, but was still perfectly adequate although was dimly lit. We did have a view of the Matterhorn which was a plus. If skiing you are 2mins easy walk to the Cretaz chairlift, which was never that busy. The main gondola is too far to walk, so you can use the hotel minibus, however I found it to be unreliable having waited 15mins for it to move one day and not even start till 9am on another (lifts open 8.30) Overall, very good hotel, well situated and staff and food are excellent. Would stay again. Thank you for making my stay a pleasurable one.
