Stayed at the Maldron Tallaght for one night as a family. We arrived early, and although our room wasn't ready, reception staff advised that we could use the leisure facilities. The pool area is good with a small pool, large pool with smaller area (good for kids practising swimming/playing) and lane swimming. There's also a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, which we didn't use, but they were all working. The pool was great (appropriate temperature). Swimming hats are needed, which is fairly standard for hotel and private health club pools. Hats can be purchased at the leisure centre, but we brought our own. Towels are also available to borrow at the leisure centre reception (free). Open changing areas with lots of showers and lockers (bring a padlock to lock). In the hotel itself, the room was a good size. Ours was at the back of the hotel so no road noise. Good size bathroom with toiletries. Tea, coffee and water available, plus some biscuits. We didn't use the restaurant but went into Dublin to eat - the Luas red line stop is about 5-10 mins walk from the hotel. There's a Lidl next door to the hotel so we also bought snacks there. In the local area, there's a shopping centre, park and Shamrock Rovers stadium. It's also near the start of the Wicklow/Dublin Mountains Way. Price-wise, the hotel wasn't cheap, but compared to other hotels in the Dublin area, including basic budget options, it was comparable. Considering it has full leisure facilities and other extras nit given at the budget ones, it was good value. Helpful staff, good location, pleasant room - recommended. (Free, secure parking at the hotel, but it's in an underground car park with a height limit of 2.1 m (it seemed very low in places!) so wouldn't suit all guests.)

Nice hotel in a good location, beds were very comfortable and room was nice, the food was a let down unfortunately, room was clean only for a remote that looked liked hadnt being clean since it was bought. Staff were helpful and friendly. Not the best value for money, buy great location.

Nice hotel, but in need of a modernisation. Rooms are comfortable. The communal areas are clean.We stayed in room 602, a lot of noise from the road. Shower was poor. The pool is very cold and have to wear a swim cap. Given the price for the hotel, €3 per cap is steep. Every person must wear cap... more

Nice hotel, but in need of a modernisation. Rooms are comfortable. The communal areas are clean.We stayed in room 602, a lot of noise from the road. Shower was poor. The pool is very cold and have to wear a swim cap. Given the price for the hotel, €3 per cap is steep. Every person must wear cap even small children. Breakfast was disappointing, menu online states pancakes with Nutella for children breakfast, these were not out. However a very nice lady went and got us some crepes and Nutella, crepes were cold but kept our 6yr old happy. Variation for the breakfast poor, didn't see much in way for vegetarian or vegan options. Hotel is beside a large Lidl. (Great for snacks). Whilst we enjoyed our stay and the handiness for our adventures. I do not think this would be a hotel we would stay at again. Staff were friendly, carparking to rear of hotel, was good.
