So on arrival we where very shocked to see the Hotel is under renovations, yes in mid July (peak season), we weren't made aware of this while booking. So on arrival we where very shocked to see the Hotel is under renovations, yes in mid July (peak season), we weren't made aware of this while booking. During the 3 days we stayed here the main bar was closed during the day and there was work men all over the hotel painting walls and ceilings. Not ideal with young kids to be telling them constantly not to touch the walls or doors as there is wet paint throughout the whole hotel. The breakfast in the mornings was a buffet with the ques being absolutely crazy to get a table and once you did get a table there was always a lack of food (We tried going earlier but was still the same). One person in the que made a comment that they felt like "Oliver twist" as you had to stand waiting on more food coming out. Seemed like the hotel took on more than they could handle with so many guests as the kitchen staff could not keep up. You couldn't get help from staff half the time as they were so busy obviously this is not their fault but you could be half way through you breakfast before getting the chance to ask someone to bring you tea, coffee, high chair etc etc On check out I went to reception and handed the room key to a young man and said we would like to check out. He basically asked the room number and then said thank you. There was no "how was your stay with us" or anything, I noticed this throughout our stay that the staff jusy seemed so casual and not trained to a high standard. There was so many other minor things like the bedroom having a broken chair, no cot in the room which was requested when we booked, when the cot was taken to the room they forgot to bring a sheet with it, the bar staff forgetting to come back to us to take our dessert order(they apologised), the list could go on and on but I think again it goes back to lack of staff and lack of proper training. I dont usually write these reviews but the fact that this might help the hotel and staff make someone elses stay more comfortable is why I am. Thanks

We arrived to a work site, badged by the management as “under construction “. Decorators everywhere, reception & bar area not usable, strong smell of paint. The staff remained professional despite being under clearly a lot of pressure from guests. They agreed guests should have been warned & given a choice to cancel etc. I can’t understand why this work would be undertaken in high season? Surely this is winter work? The management explained they were unable to secure workers in winter & had very little notice of the work starting. At €180 a night, the state of the place was unacceptable. I spoke to the manager at check out & he was quick to recompense, granting us 50% off the bill which was very fair. All the staff were pleasant, helpful & polite
