We stayed at this hotel in a kitchenette suite so we were able to do some cooking which was great. In the building (separate from the main hotel) there was a washing machine and dryer. It was free to use. Just bring your washing detergent. The washing machine wasn't too clean, but we were glad to do some washing. The suite was really big with a separate bedroom. The sofa bed however, was very uncomfortable for our teenager. The kichenette was well equipped with all the necessary items. There was a microwave and a fridge. The suite has air-conditioning but you can also open the windows if you prefer. There were no lifts so book a ground floor room if you have mobility issues. Netflix was available, but you have to log into your own account. This wasn't quite clearly stated on the website. There was a big walk-in shower with complimentary bath essentials. We would return to this hotel.

Castletroy Park Hotel is a beautiful hotel. The staff are amazing, they are helpful, friendly and polite. The food is delicious, the rooms are lovely, everything is great - except - the leisure centre. The facilities therein are excellent, pool, gymnasium, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, icebath; everything you could want or ask for, but the supervision of the pool area is non existant and the area is very badly maintained. My family and I were here recently, and during our time in the pool area, I noticed kids of about 9 - 12 years old in the jacuzzi, the Sauna, and the steam room, this woukd not be tolerated in our local LC . A lot of people using the pool, both adults and children were not wearing hats despite notices stating theybare compulsory. Kids were divebombing and jumping into the pool, and even though there was a staff member on site, no inappropriate behaviour was challenged. The floor around the pool was very wet (which I know is to be expected) and slippery, but at no stage was it squeegeed. Any other leisure centre I have used has had each of these issues addressed immediately. The changing area was also poorly maintained. The cubicles were actually dirty, the benches had dirty bandaids and a cumulation of dust and debris between the wooden lats. Whilst changing I overheard other patrons complaining about the state of the room. There's and area for drying your hair but it too was filthy with hair, tissues, water bottles, and other rubbish all over the place. I do understand that it is the users of this area that cause the issues, but the hotel management has a duty of care to all patrons to ensure the area is clean and pleasant to use. The Castletroy Park is a beautiful hotel, it has amazing staff, wonderful food, beautiful rooms and excellent facilities but the upkeep of the leisure centre is severely compromising their standards.

3 friends and I spent one night in this hotel during our Stout Tour of Galway and Limerick. The hotel was very good overall and was perfect for one night. It is a short taxi journey away from the centre of Limerick. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and tidy and the hotel has numerous facilities. We didn’t stay long enough to try the restaurant/breakfast or spa so cannot comment on these but our short stay was satisfactory to our needs. There was a large wedding on when we stayed and at 3 in the morning, we were awoken to a male outside the front of the hotel with a megaphone shouting expletives profusely. Whilst it was very odd, if anything it just added to the Irish culture and experience.

The rooms were nice and modern,very clean[room 149].The staff were very good.Breakfast in the morning was excellent.We had an evening meal for 3 people,2 of the meals had to be sent back they were so poor,a knife struggled to cut through the cod.The food was replaced but wasnt much better.The meal was well over 100 which we dont mind paying if the quality was there.
