This hotel is truly special. It is a beautiful historic manor on lovely grounds that look into Killarney national park. The rooms are spacious, well-outfitted (with excellent showers), and spotless. The common areas (the grounds, library, solarium) are all beautiful and historic while still being comfortable and inviting. The library in particular is an excellent place for curling up with tea and a book. The staff is amazing! We had a wrench thrown in our travel plans and needed a place to stay last minute. Veronica at the front desk took excellent care of our tired and slightly frazzled party, making sure there were rooms for us both nights (the hotel was quite full) and planning our room-move for us in advance. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. The Cellar restaurant was also fun and tasty; they served some of the best fish and chips I've had. This hotel's location just outside of Killarney town and close to Muckross is a significant draw for me as it is both peaceful and convenient. We had herds of deer and calves come right by our room, which added to the charm.

“Beautifully restored estate”
Lovely rooms (some with little garden patios) and such a beautiful estate. The pub in the cellar is fun and unique. Delicious breakfast with gorgeous views out the entire back of the house. Very friendly staff. So peaceful you would never guess you are so close to the main Killarney attractions.

“Absolutely incredible”

When we arrived we were greeted by the fabulous Luis and Veronica. They were both so friendly and amazing. I just knew we had picked the right place for our special occasion. We then got a tour by Luis and he showed us to our room. No 38. We were blown away by the room. Now onto the bar. The two lads working in there were just fabulous. The cocktails and the food was unbelievable. Then it was time to sleep. I personally never sleep very well in hotels, but this all changed in the cahernane. The mattress and pillows are luxury. so luxurious i slept all night both nights. Breakfast was gorgeous and in there we met the fabulous staff. all so professional. We met the lovely Mary. Mary was a woman after my own heart. we bonded over a conversation about coke zero 🤣. On the way back from a show at the INEC we met Veronica who was finished her shift for the night and im sure she was tired and yet she still had time to stop and have a chat with us. That girl is one in a million Im sure the cahernane are so proud of your staff and to quote a line from your main page The Jewel of the whole hotel is the staff and we cannot personally wait to get back there again.

We booked through a Rory’s Travel Club deal and had a fantastic weekend! We received a very warm welcome and were shown around the main house. We booked a room in the coach house and absolutely loved it.. the room was very spacious with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was just glorious! The decor of the rooms were traditional with all the mod cons. Heated floor in bathroom was a lovely touch. Very attentive staff and always mannerly. We had a voucher for tea and scones as part of our package… I enquired at the bar if it was possible I could get them to go so we could have them in our room after an afternoon of wandering around killarney. I was expecting some scones popped into a brown bag so I could take them away (which I would have been perfectly happy with by the way) .. but the wonderful barman personally delivered coffee and scones to our room within 10 minutes with a lovely selection of condiments. Top class service. Lovely breakfast… cellar bar is small and very quiet and if I was to critic anything about our stay it would be that the bar lacked a bit of atmosphere. We will 100% be back again.

We got married in Cahernane house in August of 2024 and it was amazing. The things you'd expect were absolutely perfect - food, drinks, rooms, hospitality, all amazing. We filled every room in the hotel and they were able to find the arrangement that made everyone happy, even including a midnight change to quarantine someone with Covid! They went far beyond what we could have expected. On the wedding day we had rainy and CRAZY windy weather. Cahernane pushed back the ceremony time, moved all of their chairs outside under their gorgeous, massive tree, and let us have the outdoor wedding despite the wind and rain. They moved furniture and outdoor decorations to accommodate the photographers. They even delivered the wedding dinner, course-by-course, to my aunt and uncle who were quarantined in their room with Covid! I can't thank them enough. Emer and the staff were so calm, cool, and collected from the months in advance when we came to visit through 4am when we refused to go to sleep. They made our wedding a truly magical few days. 11/10 ❤️
