Overall the hotel was good. N clean. The Breakfast was well Spread with a lot of Varieties. Both Local Dishes n Western Some of the OJT trainees was polite n courteous Chely, Andika,Awelia,Bikti,Sari, N the hotel staff Irra n Dwika was very. helpful n Pleasant with Good Smiles 😊

“You helped my uncle recover from his injury. Thank you.”

My 84 year-old uncle, who lived by himself in Medan, woke up with a bloody discharge on 12 October 2024. When he was released from hospital nine days later, he had not fully recovered. I contacted Ms. Yunita to arrange for an accommodation for my uncle. She responded immediately and quickly prepared a room for him. As my uncle hadn't regained his stamina, the Front Office staff (Erwan?) loaned him a wheelchair to make it less strenuous for him at breakfast time. Two nights later, my uncle checked out of the hotel to seek a further assessment on his injury. He returned four days later and, to his delight, he was given the same room (336). This thoughtful decision from Ms. Yunita helped my uncle settled in quickly. My uncle really enjoyed staying at Room 336 because the sun shone through in the morning while he sat on the sofa chair reading newspapers. Fresh air seeped in through the slightly opened window. For the past two years, whenever I visited my relatives, I always stayed at Radisson Medan. But this was the first time that one of my relatives needed a place to recuperate. I am deeply grateful for all the assistance given to my uncle during his 5-night stay at Radisson Medan. You played a significant role in his recovery. Thank you, on behalf of my family, for your kindness. P.S. If I may offer a suggestion, it is for the hotel to consider installing grab bars around the spacious shower area of Room 336 for the elderly guests to hold on to. On a similar note, perhaps Radisson Medan would like to look into providing wheelchair-accessible rooms?

“Great experiences twice, but one small critique”

I actually went in November, but I am slow to write reviews. Honestly, I have always had great experiences here (been twice). Any issues have always been small things, things that will happen from time to time. The staff are polite and helpful, the building itself is nice, and I enjoy the food. The only critique I would have is about the restaurant. The first time I went here, it was on the top floor. The second time, it was moved to the Ground Floor, in what is known as the Arena Café. It is a nice and lively place. Unfortunately, it is also a smoking area, despite the hotel being noted as smoke-free on the Radisson website (there are floors for people who smoke too, but that's ok.) As someone who doesn't smoke, I felt I could not eat there, as it is unhealthy and leaves a smell on your clothes (and no doubt the food too.) You can always order food to your room; however, I would rather not to this for two reasons. First of all, I don't like wasting staffs' time delivering food to my room, when I would be happy go to get it myself. Secondly, I would actually prefer to leave the room, as it's preferable not to spend all of your time there - even though the rooms are nice. It would be nice if there was a non-smoking area to eat the food. Or maybe just a general non-smoking lounge area where the food could be eaten. I think it would also be easier for staff, instead of having to go to people's rooms. Do not be confused by this wordy critique, though. Radisson Medan is a great hotel, and I have never had a horrible experience here. That is why it would be nice to get around the hotel more, if there was somewhere non-smoking to sit and eat.
