If I am not mistaken, it was not the first time we stayed there, but yes, surely I will stay there again.

My Uncle & I visited Yogyakarta for the first time in September 2024, we decided to stay at this hotel for the entire duration of our holiday here(5 nights) and we are extremely happy that we made the correct decision! Here is a breakdown of my review for this hotel: 1) Room: We booked a Level room, which is on the executive floor(6th Floor), with twin beds, walk-in shower cubicle plus bathtub, overlooking the swimming pool and courtyard garden. Our room costs USD125 per night and comes with a range of perks, including complimentary buffet breakfast for 2, complimentary daily laundry service for 5 pieces of garments per day, complimentary minibar and local fruit platter, housekeeping and turn-down service daily, complimentary access to the Level Lounge(Executive Lounge) on Level 6 whereby we can order unlimited complimentary cocktails, mocktails, specialty coffees & teas, beer, fizzy drinks, freshly-squeezed fruit juices, an array of snacks and finger food, and express check-in & check-out. The Executive Lounge also serves a continental breakfast to all Level room guests, but we preferred to have breakfast in the main buffet restaurant on the ground floor because there is a HUGE variety of food served there. Our room was spacious, very clean and quiet. IMPORTANT TIP: The rooms overlooking the swimming pool are much more quiet than the rooms overlooking the main road outside, due to traffic noise. 2) Food: This hotel has a few restaurants, including the Chinese restaurant Ching San, which is THE BEST halal Chinese restaurant we have ever dined in! We are Malaysian Chinese and have tried many halal Chinese restaurants in Malaysia and all over the world, the Ching San Restaurant here absolutely won our hearts! We dined here for dinner on 2 separate evenings, the king prawns with golden coat is to die for! Ching San is open only for dinner every evening. The main restaurant serves a very good breakfast buffet spread, you will get to try Indonesian cuisine & delicacies as well as cuisine from around Asia. The types of Indonesian and Asian dishes changes everyday, we dined here for 5 mornings and never had the same dishes! They also serve western options such as omelettes, sausages, hard-boiled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, waffles, pancakes, bread, pastries and cereals. In fact, there is even a pasta station at breakfast here, which serves made-to-order pasta of your choice! Specialty coffees & teas are also included in the buffet breakfast. The main buffet restaurant serves Ala-carte meals for lunch & dinner for an extra charge, and they are open 24/7! There is also a pizzeria onsite which opens for dinner only, as well as a cake shop and a full-service bar, but we didn't try those. All food served here is certified halal. 3) Facilities: This hotel has a nice swimming pool nestled in a tropical garden in the hotel's courtyard, the pool has a small water slide for children. The courtyard also has a small playground for children, a few gazebos and an open-air area for events and functions. This hotel has a grand ballroom which can accommodate 1000 people, several function rooms on the 1st floor, a health spa offering massages and foot reflexology(we went for a full body oil massage and it was wonderful!), a gym, sauna, a small souvenir shop and a local travel agent called Astrindo Travel Services. We booked our day-trips to Borobudur and Prambanan with Astrindo and they were marvelous! We were so happy with both of those day-trips that we booked a half-day city tour with Astrindo too, and everything went smoothly. If you are planning to stay here, I recommend that you book your day-trips with Astrindo, their drivers are top-notch. 4) Location: This hotel is located around 120 metres off the famous Malioboro Street; the most happening area in the heart of Yogyakarta. Here, you can buy good quality batik garments, souvenir t-shirts and all kinds of local snacks at really affordable prices. Malioboro Street itself is a major tourist attraction as well as a hang-out spot for the locals. You must come here in the daytime AND in the nighttime, it is seriously vibrant and lively at night! This hotel is also within walking distance to the train station but I wouldn't advice overseas visitors to take the trains or public buses because all the signboards are in Indonesian and none of the public transport staff speak English! To get around the city, you can take the taxis, Grab, the rickshaw(called Becak) and the horse-drawn carriages. 5) The Staff: The staff of this hotel are the TRUE GEMS of my entire holiday in Jogja! I booked directly with this hotel on their official website, and from the moment I submitted my booking request, they contacted me to ask me if I have any specific requests and preferences for my room, if I require any hotel-airport transfers, if I have any food allergies, etc. I stated my requests and preferences and they made it come true! They helped me to arrange for the airport transfers, and I paid for my room and airport transfers when I checked into the hotel. If you book through a 3rd-party like Agoda, Booking.com or Expedia.com, you would have to pay at the time of your booking. At this hotel, there is always a doorman to welcome arriving guests or to wish guests who are going out a pleasant day or evening. The doorman and bellhop will help guests with their luggage whether they just arrived or are leaving for the airport. I have traveled around the world and I can tell you that not every 5-star hotel has this kind of service! Each time that we came out of the elevator on the ground floor, we were warmly greeted by all the staff behind the reception desk, which faces the elevators. Everywhere we walked within this hotel, all the staff members we came across greeted us at any time of the day or night. And each time we required something, like additional bottles of drinking water in our room, we called the front desk and within 2 minutes, a staff member will show up outside our door with a smile and with the items that we requested. The complimentary laundry service was really efficient, we would call for a staff member to collect our dirty laundry in the evening at around 9pm and our clean laundry, nicely pressed and folded, would arrive back inside our room by 2pm the following day! I have NEVER experienced service like this before, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! Pak Puguh from the concierge desk even gave me a few Indonesian coins when I asked him where I could get some local coins for my personal coin collection! KUDOS TO THE AMAZING STAFF of this hotel!!!!! The staff here are genuinely happy to serve all their guests, which cannot be said for some other hotels I have stayed at. BONUS TIP: If you are an overseas visitor staying here, I highly recommend that you attend a classical dance performance + dinner at the Ramayana Ballet Purawisata theatre. The concierge can help you to make the reservations and you will receive a complimentary hotel pick-up & drop-off service. The buffet dinner at that place is astounding and so is the show! All-in-all, my Uncle & I had a marvelous time in Jogja, thanks to the staff of this hotel and also to Astrindo Travel Services. They really go out of their way to accommodate their guests. I highly recommend this hotel to all overseas visitors who are planning to visit Yogyakarta!

We have stayed for five nights at this hotel last year. It is conveniently located near the center. The room was comfortable, equipped with everything we needed. The restaurant was excellent. In addition to the delicious breakfast we also had lunch or dinner every day. Both local and Western dishes were excellent. They also offer wonderful desserts. We took use of the pool and the gym as well. We would certainly stay here again.
