On arrival, we liked the Colonial type vibe, lots of shady trees, water feature in Reception. Our room was dated, could do with an uplift, but staff made up for this with their hospitality. Hotel is on Sanur beach, cordoned off area with deckchairs but local shops approach for sales. Many elderly guests who seem to stay here every year, Breakfast was nice. Pool area is quiet. We liked this hotel because of its location on the beach. At night, we would walk along the beach and never felt fear. Sanur beach is lively at night, even locals come to eat at the Shacks. A short taxi ride takes you to Sanur Town where there is ample choice of restaurants, bars and international cuisine. Hotel is very reasonably priced which enabled us to book our own Taxi and Driver who helped us tour Bali for 7 days. Restaurant, Reception, Management and all staff were very helpful in making our stay enjoyable.

“Sack the cleaners”

Pool and garden great. Breakfast adequate. Staff helpful. Air con ok. BUT rooms are dirty, bathroom cleaning totally inadequate. Furniture in some rooms is very old and dated, broken in some cases. Some rooms have been updated with decent furniture, curtains and decor. But some are appalling and dirty with curtains that are black at the bottom. All rooms seem to have grey stained towels that used to be white, same for the bedsheets and pillows. God knows how old the pillows are. They need to invest in new bedding and towels, they had obviously been washed as they smelled clean but they are stained and grey and that makes you feel unclean. They appear to charge more for a modern room and you have to request this as you'll be allocated their worst rooms unless you complain.
