Located in the gated/guarded compound in ND, large hotel area with several large complexes housing the rooms. 2 large pools with cabanas and large number of lounge chairs. 1 main open restaurant and an open gourmet bar. Plentiful buffets for all meals, 24/7 convenience shop outside back gate. 10 min walk to Bali Collection shopping village. Rooms are big and so are the beds! It’s truly family oriented with a crèche, hence if you want a quiet stay, not ideal. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Pros: - Seamless booking experience - Responsive email communications - Priority check-in for Accor Plus members - Free room upgrade - Welcome drinks upon arrival - Excellent restaurant dishes (best tried in Bali so far) - Allows takeaway food from their restaurants to be reheated - Room has own kitchen complete with cooking pans and tableware - Buy 1, take 1 coupon at Pause Cafe - Free shuttle service to Bali Collection mall and the beach - Clean private pool with provided towels - Quick response for extra towels and water - Airport transport service available - Close to 24-hour mart (Circle K) and ATM Cons: - Rooms are a bit outdated - Worn-out bathroom tiles and difficult to turn the knobs in the sink - No handheld bidet on the toilet - Wardrobe cabinet has an old smell and hangers have rusted parts - No rubbish bin in the kitchen area Summary: Overall, great value for money considering we got upgraded to 3 bedrooms with private pool and gazebo.

My wife and I recently stayed at Nusa Dua's Novotel for eight nights, having booked a hotel package through Luxury Escapes. This isn't a luxury hotel and more accurately, it would qualify as a three star resort. The room we were in looked somewhat tired and could do with a refresher. Plenty of room, large bathroom, very comfortable bed but not many frills. All rooms have a balcony, with ours overlooking the hotel's car park, but in any case, it was just too hot to sit out there anyway, being in the sun most of the day. The most attractive features of this hotel are its lovely, very well maintained gardens and the large central pool. The hotel is not situated on the beach front, but the hotel runs a shuttle bus to its beach every fifteen minutes. The food at this hotel is not particularly exciting and not cheap by Bali standards and the food service is slow. The breakfast buffet (included in our package) was the best meal of the day, especially the fresh tropical fruits, with a good variety of other food to cover most tastes. If you want to sample some local restaurants, there are quite a few within ten minutes walk from the hotel. The bar at the hotel is OK, but drinks are, like the meals in the restaurant, not cheap by Bali standards. However, the hotel does have a happy hour every evening from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm, where you can buy drinks, two for the price of one. You can also order these happy hour drinks at the restaurant, provided you order them before 7.00 pm. Wine by the bottle is expensive and in my view, not worth the price. There is a nice cafe within the hotel grounds, serving reasonable coffee and nice pastries, plus good looking bakery items. Drinks and food service is available whilst relaxing around the pool. The best part of our stay at the Novotel were its staff, always happy and friendly and very obliging. Don't get me wrong, we did enjoy our eight nights at the hotel and our time was very relaxing, which was the main purpose of our stay. But if you think you are going to a luxury resort, you may need to lessen your expectations.

After a 10 night stay at this resort, you would start to wonder if you tell the staff something would it sink in!!! I’ll get back to this. The grounds on the resort are very clean and well maintained as the grounds staff are always cleaning. The pool area is the same.. great shape! We stayed in room 7501, 5 th floor with good views of the grounds. Big king size bed large kitchen and dining room and a spacious lounge area. However, if you’re not Australian you’ll have trouble watching TV as 99% of the channels are non English speaking. The pricing in this resort are way out and if you’re looking to budget your holiday I would strongly suggest you don’t eat or drink here. One would think, if these people would want you to stay be mindful to your guests!! A small beer would set you back $7.50 Aussie dollars and a club sandwich is around $17.00 but if you were out the back of the resort you will find 2 little stores were you can buy a beer for $3.00 and take it back as many others were doing the same thing!!! Now getting back to the start. The breakfast area. Very poor!! The toaster for starters was spinning so fast you had to put your bread for toast at least 5 times to get brown and finally after day 10 it was changed to normal pop up!! The warmers to keep your food warm was in low standard. Cold, Cold. I complained 5 times out of the 10 days I was here, day 9, I just had cold fruit . The staff just didn’t listen!! Although your staff are so friendly, I think they just smile and hope enjoy your meal, in which most people didn’t as there was talk around the area and the food selection is pretty much the same every day. Would I return after my 3rd time, I’m not so sure!! Keep it in mind though, if you’re into quad biking or white water rafting it will take you around a 2 hour drive to get there as Nusa Dua is away from most things. Nusa Dua is a beautiful area with expensive hotels but I’m if the Novotel wants to keep up a standard be like the others, I suggest you need to be better!!! Great weather this time of year to visit Bali as I do most years… cheers
