“Good stay at a good price”

Stayed for the first week of May 2024 and was a pleasant stay. The staff were lovely and accommodating and the hotel itself was good. The room was spacious, clean and had plenty of cupboards and drawer space. It had in room tea/coffee facilities and even a hairdryer and a safe. The bathroom was in need of a bit of tweaking/sprucing up such as silicone mould and calcified taps etc but hot water and there was plenty of worktop around the sink for your bathroom necessities. The hotel itself is of smaller ground space but nicely presented with the pool at a refreshing temperature. The pool bar was staffed and open daily with nice cocktails and even a happy hour 3 for 2. It wasn't on the cleanest side (dust on the hung glasses like they've not been used in a while) but all in all a very pleasant stay. The location was in the middle of Kuta itself which is a part we have never stayed before and wont ever again tbh. It wasn't a relaxed location but there were plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a short 5 min walk from the start of Poppies II. We found the Natural Spa 5 minutes walk north was great and went there numerous times. There is a great laundry just on the laneway out of the hotel (new establishment with new machines and very friendly) - great smelling and quick service at good prices. Al in all a nice stay for a 3* hotel and good value. We included breakfast with our stay and consisted of a menu list for breakfast with numerous options.

Room is basic but has everything you need, big comfy beds, modern bathroom, flat screen TV. As others have said located 50 yards down a side alley but no dramas. Decent stay for a decent price, i'd probably return

“Small and relatively quiet.”

Small hotel down a quiet and very narrow laneway off the main street Jelan Legian in Kuta. Not the easiest for our driver to find. Small hotel down a quiet and very narrow laneway off the main street Jelan Legian in Kuta. Not the easiest for our driver to find. Rooms are a good size, very clean and tidy with recently updated bathrooms. Rooms are serviced daily and the sheets and towels are clean and not stained. Air con works well. A number of other guests were regular returnees. Food in the restaurant was okay and about budget Aussie prices eg $12 for a cooked breakfast. Cheaper cooked breakfasts ( Eggs, Bacon, tomato, hash brown, 2 rounds of toast, butter, jam. tea and fresh juice for $6 ) are found 150 m away on Legian street. Not a lot of cheap breakfast places in Kuta as most dont open until about noon. Walking distance to the Bali monument ( under 3 mins) and close to Poppy's lane. If going to Bali consult friends or others and find a reliable driver to pick you up from the airport and drive you where you wish to go. Your driver can assist you in getting a TELEKOMSI Indonesian Sim card, but you will need to present your passport and flight details due to new government rules before you can buy a SIM. They all come with data ( not needed as you can wi fi at the hotel ) and you can't buy a 'call only ' sim. Avoid the airport touts and street side driver's at ALL COSTS. Don't engage with any street side stall holders unless you are genuinely interested in buying, right there and on that day otherwise it is difficult to get away. Save your buying to the end of your stay, when you have worked out what is a good price and what is a rip off price. Learn basic Indonesian Phrases. Maaf, Tidak, Terih Mekasi, Banyat. ( Ma -arf, tee dark, teree meck hasee, bunyut ) Sorry, No, Thank You, Very much. Duo lingo is a great place to start before you travel, just a few weeks of an hour a day on Duolingo and you will do a lot better. A little local language and a smile works wonders. Unless you have a death wish, don't hire a scooter for yourself. Helmet or no helmet. And don't ever pick up a ride on a scooter in the street. Be aware of your travel insurance, if you are injured when you have been drinking you may not be covered. If going to Bali for cheap tattoos, go with people you have been recommended and observe same hygiene practices you'd expect in Australia. Don't tattoo if you have been drinking.
