This is very much an entry level 5star resort - some reviewers seem to expect so much for their £50 / $100 Aussie dollar per night.... On a price to quality ratio we were happy with our 2 night stay - if you want more luxury double your budget. The room was large enough,good shower but towels were old/grubby(even though freshly cleaned) Breakfast - very busy / tables not cleaned quickly. Food was ok. Pool area lovely- water was not the cleanest(murky) - plenty of sunbeds/Parasols/shade under trees. Plenty of Restaurants outside - Vietnamese Warung (called Minnie's I think) directly on the street outside was extremely good/cheap. You won't get much better value for money than this resort.

The resort is pretty huge, with lush gardens surrounding the various complexes of hotel rooms. It apparently has about 400 rooms, which I'm not surprised at - I was in Building 2 and there were multiple three storey blocks of rooms around courtyards. The pool area was pretty popular with a lot of people swimming and hanging around the swim-up bar most of the day. They play music there and there is a live band in the evenings apparently. The included buffet breakfast is pretty good, with lots of options including a soup station, egg station etc. After being surprised by my request for gluten free on the first morning (even though I'd written it in my reservation and asked about it in the lead up to the stay), the staff brought GF bread on request on the other mornings. Nothing is labeled with allergens, so I generally stuck with eggs, fruit, juice, etc. The onsite spa is lovely - the staff are helpful and keen to please, and the surroundings are calm and airy. While more expensive than the spas on the street outside, it's worth it for the convenience of being onsite, plus things like being able to take a shower after a full body massage is great. The rooms have the usual features I'd expect for a hotel like this: a spacious room with large bed, chair, desk, tv, aircon, kettle, little fridge, ensuite with good shower and a small balcony with seating. There were 2 bottles of water replenished each day. The mattress was quite solid but comfortable, and the pillows were variable - there were some lumpy ones and some that were a bit better. Location wise - the resort is close to the airport and on the beach, within walking distance to many restaurants and shops, and a couple of malls.

At first glance this seems like a 5 star resort but sadly a few things let them down. The good things about this resort are firstly the price it is easily affordable. The beachside restaurant and bar has a perfect outlook to enjoy the sunset and the staff here were attentive and very nice to deal with. It was slightly annoying that the vendors from the various stalls would call out to you from the sidewalk but as they did not step foot on the property it was fine. There was also live music at night which was lovely. The grounds are well kept and look a bit like a tropical forest and the kids were happy that they could feed the Koi in the ponds. Breakfast had a large range to pick from so would suit even the fussiest eaters. The pool is a mixed review, it is large and looks great but much of it was too deep even for the tallest of us, for the most part so not great for the kids and there was no lifeguard I could see, so a bit nerve wracking for some of the parents. Naturally it did have a kiddies section but that was really only for the little ones. It does have a swim up bar but this could get quite crowded and a bit rowdy as the day wore on. Then we get to the rooms. We had to change rooms as our first room had mould on the shower ceiling and a lot under the lip of the bathroom sink. The next room was slightly better but the bathrooms need a lot of renovation to bring them up to even a 4 star standard. The doors to the patio were starting to rot and we had trouble getting them to close and lock properly. Terrible pillows and boring dark decor. There are apparently no non smoking rooms so the cigarette smoke from adjoining balconies did permeate into our rooms even with the door closed. There was also a sewerage smell that would randomly appear. No bathrobes or slippers are provided.
