Really nice stay in the middle of the city. Clean and nice support at the desk. Breakfast is limited but, no hot meals, but it keeps you satisfied We asked for a room backside, because we have heard about some noise from the street. Guess that was a good idea. We slept well even with open windows. The room had a small kitchen and fridge.

This hotel is right in the middle of the action surrounded by a convenience store on the corner and the pink pig BONUS supermarket down the road. We stayed at the Fron on arrival and for a few days prior to departure. It is important to know that the budget rooms are very small We stayed in a much more spacious room on the 4th level floor for our second (departure) stay . If you are booking through a travel agent be careful not to lose control of your expectations when you first arrive. So you get what you pay for here . The bathrooms are adequate with good shower water pressure. There is a small fridge in the room which is handy . Breakfast is standard Nordic fare . Try the pickled herring a boiled egg and chilli jam on toast if you dare .

“Try for a larger room”

We had 3 nights at Fron - the first in a very small room at the front which was noisy from the street below. We asked for an upgrade and were very happy with an apartment at the rear - spacious and quiet. Reception staff were very helpful and breakfast was a plus.

“Great location, simple accommodation”

On a pedestrian street in the middle of the shopping area surrounded by good food and little cafes and bakeries. A treat just to stroll around the neighbourhood and window shop. On a pedestrian street in the middle of the shopping area surrounded by good food and little cafes and bakeries. A treat just to stroll around the neighbourhood and window shop. Beware of the expensive candy store but try the Rosso Pomodoro for great Italian food. Rooms are small and bathroom and shower tricky but well appointed. Bed comfortable in the warm room. Good blinds for summer blackout. Staff very accommodating. The included breakfast was varied and more than enough to choose from and to fill me up until supper time. No parking close by but pick up and drop off out front.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Right on Laugavefur street which is the downtown core and accessible to a plethora of restaurants, shops and bars. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Right on Laugavefur street which is the downtown core and accessible to a plethora of restaurants, shops and bars. Walking distance to Harbour/boardwalk and church. We had a 1 bed suite with mini kitchenette (stove, fridge and microwave). Unfortunately no toaster which was strange. Room was clean however the washroom was disgusting. Moldy tiles and cramped shower. This is the only reason I would rate this hotel as a 3.5 because everything else was great.
