“A Roomy Hotel Option Close to Everything in Budapest”

I selected this hotel primarily due to my allegiance to Marriott, prompted by a less-than-satisfactory experience at a "boutique" hotel on my previous visit to Budapest. Accompanied by my wife, we received a warm welcome despite our late arrival. The cleanliness of our apartment was impeccable, although it could benefit from some modernization (which might have already occurred, considering Marriott's recent acquisition of the hotel just prior to our stay). The room offered exceptional comfort and was conveniently situated, less than a block away from Vaci Utca in one direction and the Danube in the other. This prime location made it ideal for exploration on foot or using public transport, with numerous attractions just a short walk or tram/subway ride away. I extend special gratitude to Anna, whose assistance was invaluable. Not only was she exceptionally helpful, but she also proved to be a wellspring of information, offering excellent dining recommendations. Without a doubt, I intend to revisit and stay at this hotel on my next journey to this enchanting city.

Very Good. Excellent Service. Soundproofed rooms. Big apartments, with a small cooking area. Centrally located, close to pedestrian area and Danube. Breackfast overall good. Some watch-out areas: the moquette on the ground, the quite limited space for parking outside (you can consider asking the taxi driver to stop close, in case you might need some time to get out and pay without rush, in case you do not carry an heavy baggage), some forniture quite old.

What we liked: - The location is excellent, close to shops, restaurants, the river and the metro - The rooms are huge, with a separate living room - The kitchenette is fully equipped with everything we needed - Plenty of storage in the bedroom, living room and bathroom areas - There is a safe, iron and ironing board - There are washing machines and tumble dryers on each floor - There are 2 small lifts which run quickly and effectively - The housekeeping staff are excellent What we didn't like: The hotel did not contact us before our arrival to let us know there is a problem with the air conditioning. In fact, they waited until we checked into the 2 rooms I had booked to notify us. They stated they are awaiting a part, and do not know how long it will be. 2 x fans were already in the room when we first entered. It was extremely hot and very uncomfortable in the bedroom and the living room, even with the fans. My husband got so hot one day that he vomited. After our 2nd night we asked again for an update on the air conditioning and this time spoke with who I believe was the Duty Manager. He explained the problem, that the part needs to be manufactured and the air-con will not be fixed during our stay. I only wish all the staff we had spoken to up to this point had been as respectful and as honest. Upon our comment regarding paying for facilities that aren't being provided, we were offered a 15% discount.
