We used hotel Marmara in connection with the Coldplay concert, shopping and to see as many of the city's attractions as possible over four days. The hotel is therefore perfectly located, within walking distance of a large shopping centre, the ciyt centre and the Parliament. There are also good restaurants and cafes in the immediate area. On the plus side, it can be added that the hotel maintains a good standard, and is generally clean and tidy. The service at the reception is very good, and the staff are very helpful. On the minus side, it must be said that the breakfast is only average, and it could have been raised to a higher level with simple measures. The coffee machines very often run out of milk, so there is a waiting period, a simple alternative with standard black coffee would have been preferable as a supplement to the coffee machines. Otherwise, scrambled eggs often ran out, and the juice machine sometimes did not work. This also seemed to affect the mood of personnel who were perceived as not smiling, although they clearly did the best they could. Otherwise, it must be mentioned that the hotel's WIFI is highly objectionable and poorly functioning for anything other than basic internet activities. It is to be regarded as not working for people who want or have to work possibly in teams in the form of meetings or other things during their stay at the hotel. I could not attend work meetings during my stay at the hotel. The hotel's WIFI should be looked at and improved or replaced. Despite this, we had a great stay, and will consider the same hotel again on a later occasion, due to the good location and the good positive aspects of the hotel and their service.

Very nice well equipped room and en-suite shower room. Beds were comfortable and the room was quiet with air conditioning and a kettle. However let down by a few small things, eg safe locked open, shaving mirror missing, fire alarm hanging down on wires, etc. Breakfast had a good choice and was nice.

“Very pleasant”

Stayed for 4 nights. This is a smallish hotel well located about 10 minutes walk from the Parliament building and 5 mins from both Nyugati Rail station and Margarit Bridge on the Pest side . Stayed for 4 nights. This is a smallish hotel well located about 10 minutes walk from the Parliament building and 5 mins from both Nyugati Rail station and Margarit Bridge on the Pest side . The hotel is only bed and breakfast. Very clean and comfortable with super staff who all speak English. Some superbly well and are very helpful and attentive . Receptionist Peter was really good as was his colleague whose name I regretfully didn’t get. ( on duty Monday and Tuesday 10 And 11 June. The breakfast is well organised and sufficient, though not as great a choice as might be expected (same every day) . Tea and coffee facilities in the room , and a fridge and safe. English breakfast tea is available. Overall, a nice small but limited B and B . The Matula Bistro is 15 mtrs across the road . There are LOTS of restaurants within 10 minutes walk. Very good location.

We enjoyed our stay here as it was out of the typical touristy area of the city, and the surrounding areas felt like it was mostly Budapest residents. It’s also quite close to all the government buildings so it felt very safe and close to Margaret Island, which we loved. As it was out of the main touristy area, the food establishments were also a bit cheaper. The hotel itself was clean and had everything we needed. The only downside is that the elevator doesn’t require a keycard so anyone can access the hotel lift and we had a strange encounter with someone who followed us into the lift but there were no staff around to alert.
