The K and K Hotel Opera in Budapest is a truly outstanding hotel. This was my 15th visit to Budapest for the opera over 20 years and I always stay at this hotel. The decor and rooms are of exceptional quality as is the food served in the breakfast bar and Bistro Gallery too. Also what makes this hotel such a wonderful place to stay is the outstanding service all guests receive from all the staff there. My stay this time was 6th to the 10th September. I would firstly like to praise the young lady who greeted me on the front desk - she was called Kitti - such a professional and friendly manner. She was so helpful as my suitcase had failed to arrive at Budapest Airport from Amsterdam. Kitti kindly took copies of the documentation about my case and phoned me immediately on my mobile phone when my suitcase arrived and was delivered to the hotel the next day. I would also like to praise on the front desk some other members of staff who also were so nice and helpful to me during my stay - they were called Fanni and Tunde and also a young lady called Luca - so professional and competent and friendly too who dealt with me when I checked out - all of these members of staff were so helpful and friendly and a pleasure to speak with too. Also so nice to see and speak with again Sebastian on the front desk - also so outstanding at his job and a great gentleman who like Kitti kept me informed about my suitcase- they couldn’t have been any more helpful. Finally I would like to praise Laszlo in the Bistro Gallery who is absolutely brilliant at his job too - he is so professional and friendly and it was nice speaking with Kristina and another gentleman who name I am sorry has slipped my mind from the Bistro. I have spoken with Laszlo many times in the Bistro gallery during my stay at the K and K Hotel Opera and he is always such a pleasure to speak with - he is so very kind and a true and great gentleman.He does an amazing job at the hotel. I hope that these members of staff can be acknowledged and praised for the brilliant job they all do at the hotel. The management of the K and K Hotel Opera must be really pleased and proud to have people of such outstanding calibre working on the team. All being well I hope to be able to return to Budapest for the opera and stay again at the K and K Hotel Opera - I would not want to stay anywhere else in Budapest. Great value and location. A few paces from the Opera House and an easy walk to all of the city sights. I’d say this hotel was good. My room was big, street facing, clean and comfortable, however, a little on the dated side. I didn’t have breakfast but I ate from the bistro menu in the bar both evenings and it was fine; the service there was friendly and reasonably fast, but it’s definitely bar rather than restaurant. When I stayed, the hotel had more of a “holiday tour group” type feel, rather than business clientele. The only real interaction I had with any staff was on reception. I’d forgotten my iPhone charger and whilst my experience is that a hotel has a drawer full of these left by other guests, apparently they were unable to help, nor could they advise where I could buy one - despite discovering I was a 5 minute walk from a licensed Apple shop. I’d recommend the hotel. Just make sure you pack your charger.

The hotel was in a great location but still managed to be very quiet in the evenings. The room was lovely and clean and made to a good standard everyday. The breakfast was really nice and a good variety of choice to suit everyone, the only downside was the juices were made from concentrated, not pure. There a good three and a half hour window for breakfast which will suit everyone. I was actually so quiet which we enjoyed and being a four star there’s no kids running riot anywhere. It’s a good hotel. The gym isn’t really a gym but a small room with four machines in and a few weights. There’s a sauna room but at extra cost. Each room comes with slippers and a dressing gown which was a nice touch. The tv has standard channels not sky. It was my partner’s birthday while we were there and we got back to our room in the evening and there was a letter on our table saying happy birthday and a small bottle of wine with 2 glasses which I thought was really nice gesture. The front desk staff are more just doing their job than over friendly. Would I stay there again is always a good gauge of how I feel and yes I would stay there again without hesitation.
