Danubius Arena Hotel has the perfect location when visiting Budapest. The MRT station is located a 2 minute walk from the hotel. For those of you that does not know; Budapest has one of the worlds best MRT(Subway) systems in the world. New train cars, clean and well marked. My experiience was that a new train would arrive at the platforms every 3rd minute. The hotel is clean, reasonable and has all the amenities you need, a fantastic breakfast, a coffieshop/restaurant in the lobby area, an indoor pool, excercise facilities, a hair dressing saloon etc. etc.. A 10 minute walk up the street takes you to Arena Mall where you find modern shops of all kinds including restaurants and fast food facilities. The hotel staff is very polite and helpful. I can highly recommend to stay at Danubius Arena Hotel if you visit Budapest.

“Was not looking forward to it….. surprised”

We were not responsible for choosing this hotel so looking in TA when I saw the look of it and how far from the centre it was I was not looking forward to it one bit. Nothing could have surprised me more. The hotel looks like a prison from the outside but the inside is sooooo different. It’s rare that I have stayed in a hotel so clean. Our room was immaculate as were all the common areas. Check in was swift and efficient. Lifts were quick and always available. Libby was bright and airy with some very comfortable seating. The breakfast room was large enough to accommodate such a large number of rooms. The breakfast…… ohhh my goodness, there was nothing that wasn’t on it! Cooked breakfast, cold platters, masses of breads etc etc yogurts with fresh honey on the comb, pates, cheeses. It would have been easy to be very greedy as sadly a few were. A bus load of oriental people arrived during our stay ( piling everything on your plate to overflowing and putting food in your bag to take away is just wrong) The mix of people staying in the hotel was very diverse, many business conferences, sporty people from the arena next door, bus loads from overseas and many people getting their teeth fixed, a complete melting pot. A convenient bar and cafe sit in the foyer, service generally very good and the food was really excellent, particularly the schnitzels. All in all a really very pleasant stay and I would definitely recommend it. One last word of note is the Metro right alongside the hotel. Cheap, clean safe and very easy to use. Buy tickets in the machine and get stamped in the small machine inside….. there are many ticket inspectors, it’s less than 10 minutes to the centre. If you are worried about booking this hotel don’t be, you won’t regret it

“Spending a night at the Danubius Hotel Arena - June 2024.”

In June 2024 we've went to Budapest to see the Scorpions at the Papp Laszlo arena and we've needed accommodation and the Danubius Hotel Arena is very handy since it is in walking distance from the Arena. Located between the Papp Laszlo arena and the Puskas stadium is really well placed from that perspective, also the Budapest metro is like 3 minutes walking from the entrance - and you can hop on the metro line red ( or metro line 2 of Budapest). So it is very well placed. They've got a parking lot in front of the hotel, however the guests can use the Arena parking for similar pricing. So when you arrive by car you are covered from the perspective of where to park your car. Checking in - Checking out went really smooth, very polite and professional front desk staff. Room - we've got a room on the 6th floor - with a view towards the city - in the evening it looked really good. The room and the attached bathroom was really clean. A small coffee corner was available in the room, so for those who like to wake up in the morning to the smell of coffee it can be really nice. The room was not very spacious, although it was more than enough for 2. The Bathroom - it was not very big , but it's got a bathtub and also all the amenities were available ( soap, shower gel, shower cap, hair dryer, etc.). What I would also like to highlight is the breakfast - a buffet type - very good options available, a huge diversity of choices was available, ranging from traditional Hungarian food, through eggs, beans and bacon (English style breakfast), diary products, several different type of breads, fruits, you name it... Overall a very good hotel, suiting the needs of almost every traveler, a very decent pricing and a very good service quality... when I'm going back to Budapest I'll try to book it again...

“Basic but all you need”
