“Perfect stay!”
I loved the timeless elegance of the hotel's interior. The staff was very friendly and they helped me plan my activities during my stay. It is located near the famous chain bridge, so we had some lovely morning walks by the river. The Buda Castle is literally next to the hotel!

“Highly recommend Carlton Hotel Buda Castle”
Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, with family, in December 2024. The hotel is well located with average 10-15min walks into Pest or Buda Castle. Public transport (trams and buses) are also close by. The staff were friendly and helpful . I would stay at this hotel again.

Well done Carlton-Buda Castle Hotel You've absolutely made our 3 night city break in Budapest. Our room was comfy, breakfast selection delicious, fresh bright staff from reception to chambermaids. It's a shame we won't ever return to Budapest as we would certainly stay again but alas a nasty experience with a thuggish ticket inspector on a BKK tram Has left a bad feeling and we will be making a complaint and seeking compensation. So tourists, please seek out information On Budapest tram inspector scam or hostile inspector especially on the single fair ticket.

“Good location for city break stay”
Very good location, close to bus we found it very easy to get around from here which was our primary concern. Lobby was nice, staff were helpful and welcoming. Room was clean but very dated Overall would stay again good base for a city break if you aren’t going to be in your room much

Overall, the hotel stay was very good. The location was perfect for lots of sightseeing on both the Buda and Pest sides. We enjoyed our breakfasts each morning--the "mixed" fruit juice was especially good. Our room was small and though it had a balcony, the balcony didn't enable you to see anything--just a closer look at the large building across the street. (My travel agent had suggested asking for an upgrade to a "Danube view" when we arrived; the gruff man at the desk said, "I'm sorry, we cannot guarantee it," which didn't make sense to me, but I took it to mean "No.") We arrived very late at night and the cab driver dropped us off at the top of a ramp which led down to a large freight elevator door--apparently this was one of the hotel's entrances. We banged on the door to no avail, and then I noticed what appeared to be an intercom on the wall to the right. I pressed a button and said "Hello?" and a few seconds later the door opened. Turns out that yes, this was an entrance, but you need your room card to open a small door located within the large garage door. I'm thinking the staff was expecting us which made them open the garage door for us, since we didn't have our room cards yet. I noticed that the room was stuffy when we first entered. I tried fiddling with the thermostat, but couldn't get it to work. Either it didn't work or I couldn't figure out the logic of the controls. But we didn't spend much time in our room so I didn't pursue it. The only real negative for me was the grumpy man who worked behind the desk. He never broke a smile no matter how congenial I tried to be with him. One time I was having trouble with my power converter and came down to get help. He helped me but seemed to roll his eyes and went immediately back to what he was doing without so much as recognition of my existence. The rest of the staff was very nice, friendly and helpful. It's a good hotel, but nowhere near four stars. That said, the pros outweigh the cons.
