“A good base. Suite stay. Very comfortable”

We booked through Voyage Privé and it was a very reasonable price. I paid extra for a superior suite. Unfortunately we had a couple of hiccups when we checked in (the first room had 2 single beds in and the second room had heating that was very noisy) but this actually lead us to being upgraded to a suite and given a small bottle of complimentary Hungarian champagne. I was very happy with the apology and the effort made and the upgrade. The breakfast was sufficient. The coffee machine wasn’t too good but again due to the upgraded room I had a lovely nespresso at my fingertips. I wasn’t charged any extra for pods being re filled either. The shower was good and the cleanliness was also good too. The hotel was a 5 min walk from a main station for bus and tram and metro and this was very convenient for exploring. It was 15 mins from e castle district and had a few shops and bars also about a 5 minute walk. The service from reception was always very friendly and helpful. We had a half board meal included one night which was fine and sufficient but nothing to write home about. In fact if you are thinking of enjoying the ambience then it’s safe to say you should go out and eat in the city or castle district. I would stay here again for the same very reasonable price. I pass my thanks onto the hotel staff for making my holiday very good and for the upgrade.

“Clean ”
We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were clean but carpets need shampooing. The reception staff were friendly. Breakfast was ok. Our room did not have a good view. The hotel is quite. Room was very warm during the night even with heaters off. All in all a good place to stay.

“Pleasant Stay”
We stayed here for 3 nights to visit Budapest. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the maid visited every day. Breakfast was nice. We used the metro to get into the city centre which is only a couple of stops from Széll Kálmán ter station. I would stay here again if visiting Budapest

I would really like to rate as 4.5 stars as my only really bad point about the hotel was the temperature control in the bedrooms. Even with the heating off it was 25C and the air conditioning we learnt was switched off by the hotel. The rest is all positive, reception excellent and so friendly and helpful as were all the staff encountered. The room, ours on the eighth floor, served by two lifts, was spacious clean with a comfy bed. The bath/shower room was modern, with separate toilet, although the hairdryer was faulty, a replacement was supplied immediately. Breakfast was a pleasure, plenty of choice for all tastes. We had dinner one night which I thought was reasonably priced although a little limited on the menu. However the food was well presented of good quality and quantity. On the ninth floor is the small spa and pool. The water was not as cold as I'd expected from other reviewers and the view was fantastic with both Parliament and Castle in the panorama. Some reviewers have also mentioned the position of the hotel and the area it is in. Yes there are empty shops and "scruffy" buildings but it looks as though there is a regeneration programme underway. Its position is only 5 minutes from the Szell Kalman transport hub, Mammut shopping complexes and 10/15 minutes from the castle. All in all though great value and do recommend.

The hotel is located a 15 minute drive from central Budapest, although the metro station is only a five minute walk! It's not in the most tourist-y area, so I would suggest it as a good place to stay for a business trip. It's quite basic-but that's why you pay less than the price for the 5 star hotel located next to the Danube. My favourite aspect of the stay were the staff. Great customer care! The man at reception in the evening was incredibly helpful and welcoming! Also, the restaurant staff were amazing too! We mentioned that the trip was a birthday trip for one of our family members and they provided a complimentary cake! We were also delighted to receive complimentary welcome drinks (descent strong cocktails!). The rooms were medicore (the AC didn't work in our room- but we opened the window. Perhaps this wouldn't be ideal in the summer). There are no toothbrushes/ toiletaries provided and the shower gel is in in a sachet (not sure if this is too environmentally friendly). There were chocolates on our bed though-which was a nice touch! We did not dine in the resturant, but we had drinks on several nights. The bartender was very helpful and assisted us in choosing a great selection of local wines to try. We also had breakfast in the morning - it was a great selection of both hot and cold foods. I would say this was the highlight! The waitress was also very friendly and provided us with everything we needed to fully enjoy the breakfast. Overall, I would stay here again if I wanted to pay the most reasonable price for a descent hotel in Budapest, however, if I was willing to spend more I would probably have chosen a 5 star hotel. You pay for what you get!
