The location is very quiet, just a 7 minutes walk from the Concertgebouw and the major museums. The hotel is very clean, modern and light. My panorama room on the top floor was spacious, had enormous windows with a wonderful view over the canal and the city, and had a very comfortable bed. The bathroom seemed a bit outdated, with the shower in the bathtub. And there's in the room hardly any storage room: no closets, no wardrobe, no drawers; there's only an open rack with hangers. The breakfast buffet offered anything you could wish for, in a nice and light environment. There's a little self-service shop in the lobby with all kinds of beverages, candy, cocktailsnacks, etcetera, the prices are a bit steep though. People behind the desk were very friendly and service-oriented. In short: a very comfortable hotel on a great location, that certainly offers value for money.

The hotel was modern. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The room was upgraded since we were staying seven days so we were able to look out on the canal. The hotel with a block and a half from a grocery store and a 15 minute walk to the museums and the metro. The only drawback was breakfast was a buffet at $25 a day and that was your only choice. They did have a pantry area where you could choose some individual items for breakfast and luncheon dinner and eat it in their microwave or pizza oven, but there was no fullrestaurant other than a café across the street. But I would definitely come back and stay there.

I have many positives to share. Firstly, Vincent at front desk was extremely helpful, warm and professional. All of the staff I encountered were quite helpful, particularly when I needed help with issues related to tours I had booked. Breakfast was excellent and had a small but reasonable gluten-free section which many hotels don’t bother to have. As a gluten-free eater, I was able to start my day well fed. My favourite was the beautiful hotel room with the floor to ceiling windows. The room was very modern, well designed and colorful, which was perfect for individuals with depth perception. Please keep this in mind if you are travelling with anyone with vision issues as it would be to their benefit. I loved the little touches like tea and coffee that were replenished and an elegant kettle. The shower was perfect and they were the little touches, such as the cosmetic kit. I appreciated after getting soaked in the rain that I could go to the automated shop and get hot chocolate. The only negative was that at times the Internet was extremely slow for longer periods. Nevertheless, I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

“Under new management”

I booked for NH hotel but it was Avani when I arrived. They have changed the decor in the rooms which I didn't like but the beds and pillows are still very comfortable. It's in a great location and the staff is helpful and friendly, but I wish it had stayed an NH hotel!
