“THE BEST HOSTEL I HAVE STAYED AT IN A LONG TIME”
I cannot stress how good this hostel was. It's not the most social - but is perfect for somewhere central in Amsterdam to stay at a bargain price. I cannot stress how good this hostel was. It's not the most social - but is perfect for somewhere central in Amsterdam to stay at a bargain price. I stayed in the 20-bed dorm in the school building, it was extremely spacious and the beds were very comfortable, almost homely. All staff I encountered at reception was very helpful. Many facilities also available such as laundry, luggage storage, bar etc. Location couldn't be much better, it's sat literally next to Vondelpark, beautiful and fresh on a morning. Tram stop for links to Centraal Station etc at the top of the alleyway, also bus links to Schiphol airport. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.

Very friendly staff with a can-do attitude. The reply when I asked for something mostly always started with "Of course...". I also utterly messed up my booking and the staff were really helpful before I even arrived (I accidently cancelled a non-refundable reservation 😬) - couldn't have been more… more
Very friendly staff with a can-do attitude. The reply when I asked for something mostly always started with "Of course...". I also utterly messed up my booking and the staff were really helpful before I even arrived (I accidently cancelled a non-refundable reservation 😬) - couldn't have been more helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Shower good. The bar/breakfast area a very pleasant space and often buzzing with school groups during the week. Breakfast kept us and our 2 kids happy. A positive experience all-in.

“Overall a decent stay, albeit spoiled by discovery of a bed bug”

I stayed at this hostel recently and, unfortunately, discovered a bed bug in my room on the second day. I want to be clear that neither I nor my bunkmate experienced any bites during our stay, and when I checked the mattress and pillows upon check-in, there weren’t any signs of an infestation. Still, seeing one was unsettling enough that I decided to check out early. The hostel was gracious upon bringing this to their attention, immediately offering to refund my stay and offering access to the laundry services without me bringing it up. They also sent someone up to check on the room. Bed bugs aren’t necessarily the hostel’s fault—they can happen anywhere if a guest unknowingly brings them in—but it’s something I take very seriously and feel obligated to share with other potential travelers. That said, I think this was likely a one-off issue. Given that neither I nor my bunkmate had any problems, I wouldn’t say this should stop people from considering this place. Aside from this incident, I actually don’t have anything bad to say about the place—it was relatively clean, comfortable, and well-run. It’s just unfortunate this happened during my stay.

i stayed here with friends and the rooms were decent enough for a hostel. the location is very nice. the food had nearly no options and only served one type of food a night (breakfast and dinner). the sheets were clean and comfortable but the bathroom basins when we first arrived were drenched in water which was obviously not a problem for us to clean. the rooms of six are spacious and overall the hostel wasn’t bad.
