I stayed briefly at this hotel last year and decided to stay again this time, how glad I did. For a budget hotel you cannot fault it, the friendly welcoming staff and their supervisor, Marjan, made me immediately welcome, even saying as I checked in 'You've stayed before'. I realise it is on the screen, how nice to be welcomed with a comment! My room was on a higher floor with a great view along the river, a good size for a budget hotel, quiet, well appointed and as before a a really comfortable bed and pillows and duvet. Their breakfast buffet sets you up for the day, great choice and plenty to fill you up! Staffing at breakfast is well organised, you always get help if you are looking for something, generally you are asked if you are enjoying it, whether you need anything - friendly but not intrusive. Yes, it is a group hotel but in an ideal place, right by the main train, bus, metro and tram stations, easy walking distance straight into the heart of Amsterdam.

“Good hotel amazing staff.”

Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. I added notes and requested the room to be decorated for my boyfriends birthday and the staff actually went above and beyond and decorated our room. Stayed here for 3 nights with my boyfriend. I added notes and requested the room to be decorated for my boyfriends birthday and the staff actually went above and beyond and decorated our room. Thank you so much for this it was much appreciated. We also had a great room on the 9th floor with a lovely view of the canal the location was also perfect close to everything. Me and my boyfriend also had a small emergency in which the staff had to help us. A massive thank you to India and her colleague, sorry I forgot the colleagues name. Such a massive help and both lovely people thank you so much for stepping in and calming me down and helping us. We looked the next day to personally thank you but couldn’t find you both. Overall would recommend this hotel for staff location and hotel was clean, cleaners came everyday and refreshed the towels and gave us water which was a nice touch. Thank you Ibis team !! X

The hotel is just in the most PERFECT spot, it’s so close to everything, food, bars, cafes, attractions and all travel options just a stones throw away. I could not believe how short of a walk it was from Amsterdam central station. Upon arrival the room was spotless, we were placed in a room that is directly above the train tracks, and although you can hear the trains, it wasn’t enough to disturb our sleep or prevent us from going to sleep. Room was a very decent size, I had read previous reviews about the rooms being very small and it worried me a little before arriving, but the rooms are adequately proportioned and it’s plenty of room. The staff were very helpful and friendly, granted us a free early check in as we arrived 5 hours early. We needed extra pillows as only 3 were provided in a double bed and we both like 2 pillows each, it wasn’t 15 minutes after asking reception and someone was knocking the door with extra pillows, very efficient service. Sad to be checking out tomorrow, but if we ever visit this beautiful place again, we will be sure to book here.

We stayed in room 116 for 3 nights and if we came back i would definitely ask to be on a higher floor. When we first arrived at the room we opened our curtains just to find out the train station was right at our window which ment people standing on the platform could see right into our room and trains would stop right at our window so people travelling on the train could also see into our room. I would recommend getting breakfast from starbucks instead of the buffet in the hotel as it was €80 for 2 adults and 2 children. The room itself was a good size as it was a family room and it had been cleaned well. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room so if you wanted tea or coffee you would have to go downstairs but it was free. Overall you get what you pay for and if we came to Amsterdam again we would definitely consider staying here but would ask to be put on a higher floor.
