“Solid hotel”

The hotel is not in the central part of Amsterdam, but it is quiet and close to the tram system, making it easy to get to the train and central Amsterdam. It is also next to supermarkets, restaurants and pharmacy. Also includes free breakfast.

I stayed here in September for work. The hotel is tucked down a quiet street. At the moment there are some building works happening nearby but I wasn’t really disturbed. The hotel feels small and friendly and I slept well. I was on the ground floor which felt odd but was actually fine. My room was quiet and clean. The shower was good pressure. Breakfast was standard for the brand but the quality of the goods was better than average. I would come here again if I had a customer in the neighbourhood.

“A very good option - especially for kosher travellers.”

I attended a conference at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam and booked at this hotel because it is only about a 15 minute walk from the university, and was reasonably priced. I initially booked by Booking.com, but then realised that booking as an IHG member would be cheaper, so I did, and cancelled the original booking. I arrived about noon, and was allowed to check in early with no problem. I was also surprised to be offered a kosher breakfast, since I had not seen this advertised in advance. Breakfast, both the kosher and the non-kosher, was good. In general, the front desk staff were always helpful. My room was comfertable, perfectly good for a single person for three nights, but rather minimal. The bed was comfortable, there was a large desk, wifi worked well. There was also a kettle and the AC was also great. However, there was no closet for clothes, just a rack for hanging, very little shelf space, and no minibar or safe in the room. And one more tip for kosher travellers - there are several kosher places just a few minutes away.

We stayed here twice in August on the weekends. The good: - location in the South of Amsterdam Buitenveldert - tramway to City Center in walking distance - good choice of supermarkets nearby The bad: - rooms are worn, walls are all scuffed, furniture (desk chair missing), carpets stained - very noisy air conditioning which should be fixed - breakfast is complimentary, but chaotic to say the least, food items not replenished and empty before 11 am - not enough staff to maintain the levels during peak times The ugly: - upon arrival we were given a room key to the first floor, the door would not open. The front desk agent made a new key and still would not open. She then assisted us and found out the room was checked in with luggage in the room. We should have been given the same room on the second floor. “Oops sorry”. It is a basic hotel, but eye for details are missing. Management should invest and repair the damages. It could actually be a very nice place to stay. We will return and look forward to seeing some improvements.
