I have just returned from a three day break for my birthday and honestly I didn't want to leave! The old world allure and magical wander of art nouveau lives on and is encaptured in this purely breathtakingly and remarkable hotel. I was met by Christopher whom immediately gave me a warm welcome at the main door, Julia at reception checked me in with a her lovely smile and then I was lucky enough to be shown round by Humphrey (It is quite easy to get lost as I found myself distracted by the sheer beauty of this building soaked in so much history and stunning architecture) I asked for a superior deluxe room and for this to be on a hight floor and I was not disappointed, I was on the third floor and the view to the cannel was stunning to see day and night. Not only was I walking on air to be at this timeless beauty but the staff took note it was my birthday weekend an wrote me a touching card that I will cherish, also I had a gift of balloons and chocolates in my room which was very much appreciated. My room was huge and the cleanliness of this hotel in second to none. Food and wine were divine and really loved the little touches this hotel provides ie, waffle biscuits and an array of herbal teas in the room I very much enjoyed. It was lovely to be shown around the hotel by Dale whom I could tell by his thorough tour that he has such a passion for this gem of a hotel, he really went out his way to take the time and explain the history and I felt very lucky to be shown around as its so precious to see. It was also lovely to chat with Georgetta and Daria (if i have not mentioned a name my apologies, you were all so lovely) I would like to say a most heartfelt thank you to all the staff here as you all made my birthday and stay so special and rememberable and I left feeling sad to leave new friends. I would recommended this remarkable hotel in a heartbeat! Thank you all so much and I will be seeing you all again I'm sure! Best wishes Rebecca

This was my second trip to Amsterdam. I chose to stay at the Hotel Amrath because of its Hotel Class and Location. The proximity to Amsterdam Centrale made the location the perfect jumping off point to nearby attractions like Gouda, the Hague, Haarlem, and Delft. Each destination made a perfect day trip. The Subway and Trams are also connected to Amsterdam Centrale and convenient day passes are sold underground for use on both within the city. The location is a short walk to Rembrandt Square, the Olde Church, Chinatown, and Montelbaanstoren. The Hotel itself is stunning. Our room was a corner suite (323) adorned with walnut paneling, cloth wallpaper, art deco lighting, and all the comforts one would expect from a world-class hotel. The staff maintained the room daily without intrusion. The front desk was responsive to our needs which were few. They did go above and beyond for my partner who left his keys in the hotel room at the end of our stay. The staff is top notch. If you chose this hotel, I would recommend taking one of the two elevators to the top floor and explore the hallways and center atrium. If I ever have the pleasure of another visit in Amsterdam, I intend to stay at the Amrath again. The hotel added much to the quality and enjoyment of our vacation.

“Great hotel, very central”

We wanted somewhere in walking distance to everything and this didn’t disappoint. Everywhere was a slow 30 min walk max. I travelled in a group with 2m 2f and im glad I did as the whole of Amsterdam is a little shady for ladies alone after dark. However it is beautiful and the hotel and their service was superb. I would advise against room 502. It is next to a loft that is quite loud. It didn’t bother me too much but may bother others. It wasn’t used an awful lot. But a heads up to future travelers

Fantastic location and historical building. Breakfast was lovely. The room was great mixing old traditional with modern. The spa and gym area is really nice too. Downside was that I woke up and the sheet had come away from the bed revealing a big stain, I told reception and they said they would get the mattress changed, this didn’t happen, they just made the bed.. I had to ask again, it wasn’t pleasant. It eventually got sorted but after several conversations.
