“Would recommend”

Great value hotel in Kavala in the best location. Staff are excellent- checkout at 11am but told 12 noon is ok too. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast on roof terrace is fab - lots of choice and served until 10.30am. Rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Such a waste of such a wonderful location! This could easily be one of the best city hotels in the country but it's not. Severely understaffed, not accomodating to guests, some attitude, lousy food and beverage, poorly maintained and low standards of cleanliness are what made my experience a negative one. At the reception desk, I had to wait for about 15 minutes before I was serviced (when my keycard was demagnetized and I needed to get into my room) - and only after I had interrupted the checkin process of some other guests that were there before me. A sole front desk employee that would not even acknlowledge your presence by perhaps making the slightest eye contact, let alone letting you know that she would be with you soon. The breakfast was of poor, poor quality. Bread must have been defrosted instead of freshly baked and as stale as it gets, even appearing soft. The rest were cheap HORECA choices and the iced coffee I asked for was just unbearable to drink. Maintenance or rather lack of it is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. But what is shocking is the cleanliness level which is as poor as it gets. Not because of the sole cleaning lady that is ding the best she can but because the hotel is dire need of a thorough cleaning from top to bottom. It is simply unacceptable to not being able to touch the elevator doors due to the amount of grease and dirt on them, for example. The staff are - perhaps - doing the best they can but the hotel needs to seriously amend their processes, hire staff and get it right. All in all, I do not recommend this hotel.

The transition from a 3-star hotel in Thessaloniki to Airotel Galaxy, rated at 4 stars, was quite strange, like a step back in time. The reception staff were very cold, and the room was rather shabby (stained walls, splattered/stained headboard, swollen and damaged bathroom door, rust present, extremely small balcony, peeling plaster on the walls, etc.). At breakfast on the second morning, although it was just after 9 am and food was served until 10:30 am, the selection was 50% or less compared to the previous day. In my opinion, this hotel's rating is completely wrong.
