I have just returned from the Medusa hotel Kriopigi and I cannot express how wonderful it has been. When I arrived I was greeted by Daphne who owns this with her husband Achealis helped by their children Eleanor and Dino. A warmer welcome you could not have received and they could not do enough for you. I stayed in room 12 a family room near the pool which was very roomy and had a double and 2 single beds. It was self catering and I was able to make simple meals. The room had a shower and hot water everyday. I did have a mop in there as it did splash on the floor and water pressure was good. The hotel is situated off the main drag of the town and when dropped off you do have a hill to walk down but it is doable and by the end of 2 weeks there was able to walk up it easily. On entering there is a bar and reasonably priced.large beer was €3.50 and served in cold glasses. I enjoyed ouzo and fanta lemonade for €4 my afternoon treat. I did eat there several times during my stay. They do great salads ,pizzas,chips and chicken plus more also good prices. Great after a trip out for the day. I did book my trips through the Jet2 rep even though I went with another company and boat trips were about €50 for a day trip with a light lunch. Well worth the money. Daphne will also help book trips and literally anything else you want. The beds have good mattresses and bedding is spotless as is the hotel Sunbeds are plentiful so don't go rushing to the pool at 6am to get one as you will be considered strange. The hotel has a mixture of guests and everyone talks to everyone so if you go solo here you won't ever feel on your own and Daphne always makes sure to give you a morning smile and ask how you are. Restaurants are plentiful here on the main drag. This is a small village but has everything you will need. There is a bus stop that is nearby and you can go to other beaches and Afytos which is a quaint village with bus fares being about €2 each way. The buses are clean and have air conditioning. The driver and ticket collector calls out each stop so you know where you are. There is a website for the bus timetable which again the family or rep can give you details. It is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the beach at Kriopigi and it is a good clean beach .Do take beach shoes as small rocks to enter the sea. There are toilets and shower. There is a bar there that serves reasonably priced tasty food and I can vouch for the cocktails. There is a free mini bus to take you back to your hotel and times vary due to season. I have come away from my stay at the Medusa feeling as if I have left my family there and want to go back sooner rather then later and cannot thank them enough for making my holiday perfect. If you are sitting at home on a grey miserable day looking at this review wondering should I go there ,from a well travelled person I would just say book it, see for yourself and enjoy

Family could not have been more lovely, nor could the amazing views from this hotel. Simple Greek accommodation, (yes, you may need to mop the bathroom floor on occasion), but spotlessly clean, (bins are emptied daily), and the hard-working hosts treat each guest as temporary family! Family could not have been more lovely, nor could the amazing views from this hotel. Simple Greek accommodation, (yes, you may need to mop the bathroom floor on occasion), but spotlessly clean, (bins are emptied daily), and the hard-working hosts treat each guest as temporary family! Self catering is basic – so don’t plan to whip up a Sunday roast - but a kettle and fridge is all we really needed for our feta salads and a beer on the balcony, looking out across tree tops to sea views and the hills beyond.... just wow!! The Pool area is lovely, though the pool itself is a little rough underfoot. Kriopigi is small and friendly with 4 bars and enough restaurants to find great Greek food somewhere new every night. We loved the old square and streets around it. Not the best beach ever, but we’re not much for lying on the beach anyway. It’s a 15 minute walk down from the hotel, (and a 20 minute stomp back up!), and is mainly pebble until you get to the bit below the solitary beach bar. Car hire was easy and it was great exploring this lovely peninsula – we plan to return to the pretty and charming town of Afytos sometime soon! If what makes your holiday is 5-star luxury and perfect beach front living … this probably isn’t the one for you. If what you’re after is genuine Greek hospitality in a clean and comfortable space with fabulous views – Medusa Hotel is spot on! Thanks for a lovely stay.

“Amazing holiday”

A lovely welcoming family run hotel. Gave us lots of advise on where to visit, places to eat background & history of the town & surrounding villages. The bar & food were very reasonable. We only had one problem one afternoon with a loud whistling noise we couldn't figure out where it was coming ... more

A lovely welcoming family run hotel. Gave us lots of advise on where to visit, places to eat background & history of the town & surrounding villages. The bar & food were very reasonable. We only had one problem one afternoon with a loud whistling noise we couldn't figure out where it was coming from. The daughter came straight up to our room realised it was the empty apartment next door. A cistern problem, solved it within 2 minuets. Couldn't fault our stay.
