Stayed here last year for 4 nights. Loved it so much, returned for 6 nights this year prior to taking QM2 back to the US. Diamond status acknowledged and given complimentary upgrade which we greatly appreciated. Almost everything in the hotel is perfect. Hotel is spotless and contemporary. Service is outstanding. The location right on the Rhine is amazing. The restaurant and outside lounge / bar is feet from the Rhine. You can relax and watch the river boats pass on the Rhine. Last year I gave the hotel a 5 star rating but mentioned the executive lounge was below average for European Hilton’s. This year it was still in another interim location but I raised the exec lounge rating to average for European Hilton’s. 6 types of hard liquor, 6 types of wine plus any type of soft drink and mixers plus numerous food items helped the rating this year. Special thanks to Malika, a supervisor who speaks 6 languages, gave me a tour of the new exec lounge on the 7th floor facing the Rhine. It looks gorgeous! I was told it will definitely be opened in November 2024. With a few changes I have no doubt that visitors will rate the new lounge a 5. I anticipate it will be above average for European Hilton’s which are nicer than exec lounges in the United States. Malika who I suspect will be a Hilton GM down the road should be given oversight to this exec lounge. If she has oversight I believe this new exec lounge will be one of the best in Europe. The staff of this hotel really stands out. Monika was my chief travel advisor who customized several day trips on the Rhine for us. Monika pulled in Suman from the restaurant to give me detailed instructions to Wiesbaden via the local buses. Thanks Suman! We also visited Limburg for the day via local train and saw the oldest house in that town 731 years old. These employees can help you on many day trips and make the most of your Mainz visit. Special thanks to another employee Jihane who speaks 5 languages and was learning her 6th. I gave special thanks to a few employees but all the Hilton Mainz employees were amazing, so polished and helpful ! We loved the breakfast Buffet. Real scrambled eggs, fried eggs and custom omelets plus at least 60 other cold and hot items. We flew into Frankfurt and took S-Bahn to Mainz. Then Heidelburg then Hamburg to take the QM2 back to US. I encourage others to stop at Mainz and stay at this Hilton. The visit at the Hilton Mainz provided memories we will never forget.

“Solid base for visiting Mainz”

We had a two night stay here. The hotel is on the Rhine and our room had a nice view over the river. The room itself - like the hotel - isn’t ultra modern but was clean and spacious. We had breakfast included, and this was decent quality. We also had access to the executive lounge, which was a bit odd in a corner of the restaurant (I understand this is temporary). All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Overall a very solid stay.

“A Lovely Hilton by the Rhine River”

Recently, our family had the pleasure to stay at Hilton Mainz Hotel. The hotel enjoys a good location, situated on the edge of Mainz’s historic Old Town district, overlooking the Rhine River. It is very relaxing to walk along the Rhine river, particular in the morning or evening. There are multiple river cruise port, including a K-D cruise, right next to the hotel. The Hilton Mainz is not next to the train station, thus, to travel to other tourist destination in the Rhineland-Palatinate, you will need to take a bus, to either Mainz main Hbf (mainly for long distance train, from/to Cologne, Brussels, Amsterdam, etc..), Römisches Theater station (mainly for regional train and S-Bahn, from/to Frankfurt Airport, Boppard), and to Mainz Kastel station (mainly for regional train and S-Bahn, from/to Wiesbaden and Rudesheim am Rhein). Among them, the trains are fairly frequent for the Mainz Hbf and Römisches Theater station. However, train at Mainz Kastel station, particularly to Rudesheim, is fairly infrequent (once per hour), and you should plan ahead (e.g., via Google Map), to ensure that you catch the right train. We are Hilton HHonor Gold member, and during the check-in, we are granted the access to the executive lounge area. Currently, the hotel is renovating the executive lounge, and the lounge area is moved to a section of the restaurant that is next to the river. The lounge has a number of soft drinks and wines. During the evening, a hot dish, a salad, and cheese and fruits are offered for 6-8pm. The selection in the lounge is pretty limited, however, the offered food is pretty taste. For example, during the weekend night, spicy fried chicken and broccoli salad are offered, both are surprisingly good. The hotel offers an excellent breakfast selection, with the usual spread (salad, cereal, salami, smoked salmon, etc..) The breakfast buffet include ala-carte order of Omelets and Egg benedicts. Both are very taste. The hotel room at Hilton Mainz is a fairly standard Hilton room, with either King or two single beds. This hotel is mainly a conference hotel. It has a great number of hotel rooms, with some spread over to the other building across the street. There is a good exercise room at the 1st floor. We found that the hotel staffs were very courteous, which helped to make our stay a memorable one at Mainz.
