Stayed here last year for 4 nights. Loved it so much, returned for 6 nights this year prior to taking QM2 back to the US. Diamond status acknowledged and given complimentary upgrade which we greatly appreciated. Almost everything in the hotel is perfect. Hotel is spotless and contemporary. Service is outstanding. The location right on the Rhine is amazing. The restaurant and outside lounge / bar is feet from the Rhine. You can relax and watch the river boats pass on the Rhine. Last year I gave the hotel a 5 star rating but mentioned the executive lounge was below average for European Hilton’s. This year it was still in another interim location but I raised the exec lounge rating to average for European Hilton’s. 6 types of hard liquor, 6 types of wine plus any type of soft drink and mixers plus numerous food items helped the rating this year. Special thanks to Malika, a supervisor who speaks 6 languages, gave me a tour of the new exec lounge on the 7th floor facing the Rhine. It looks gorgeous! I was told it will definitely be opened in November 2024. With a few changes I have no doubt that visitors will rate the new lounge a 5. I anticipate it will be above average for European Hilton’s which are nicer than exec lounges in the United States. Malika who I suspect will be a Hilton GM down the road should be given oversight to this exec lounge. If she has oversight I believe this new exec lounge will be one of the best in Europe. The staff of this hotel really stands out. Monika was my chief travel advisor who customized several day trips on the Rhine for us. Monika pulled in Suman from the restaurant to give me detailed instructions to Wiesbaden via the local buses. Thanks Suman! We also visited Limburg for the day via local train and saw the oldest house in that town 731 years old. These employees can help you on many day trips and make the most of your Mainz visit. Special thanks to another employee Jihane who speaks 5 languages and was learning her 6th. I gave special thanks to a few employees but all the Hilton Mainz employees were amazing, so polished and helpful ! We loved the breakfast Buffet. Real scrambled eggs, fried eggs and custom omelets plus at least 60 other cold and hot items. We flew into Frankfurt and took S-Bahn to Mainz. Then Heidelburg then Hamburg to take the QM2 back to US. I encourage others to stop at Mainz and stay at this Hilton. The visit at the Hilton Mainz provided memories we will never forget.

“Solid base for visiting Mainz”

We had a two night stay here. The hotel is on the Rhine and our room had a nice view over the river. The room itself - like the hotel - isn’t ultra modern but was clean and spacious. We had breakfast included, and this was decent quality. We also had access to the executive lounge, which was a bit odd in a corner of the restaurant (I understand this is temporary). All staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Overall a very solid stay.

“First impressions”

Great property by the Rhine....if only I had more time here. Check in was almost flawless, save that the front desk did not inform me that the property was separated into 2 buildings, and that the elevator did not go to the floor directly. Had to find out the hard way, walking back/forth a couple of times. Was told to write my HH # on the check in sheet, but it was never input into the system - had to have them reprint the folio upon checkout. The WiFi was also not user friendly. Even though one could intuitively log in using the room number and last name, the page still asked for one to register as an HH member, with the only other option to deny that....and thus NOT have WiFi. Had to call the front desk and the matter of fact reply was to ignore the message and deny that, WiFi will still connect. Oh well ! Room was spacious and comfy enough, beds and pillows very comfortable. TV was a bit small, by today's standards....was only ~ 32". Not a fan of the minimalist amenities being practiced by the chain hotels these days. At least they had a clock in the room ! The pump dispensers for soap, lotion, shampoo are also not great - some are almost empty and takes more than several pumps to get anything out. Fitness room was decent - free weights and a couple of treadmills, benches and a few machines. Good enough for my typical workout. Only regret was having to leave before partaking of the breakfast......next trip perhaps.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mainz Hilton. Room was comfortable. We ate at their restaurant dinner buffet which was very good. Also the breakfast buffet was delicious and offered many choices. You can dine al fresco on the patio overlooking the Rhine River. One complaint we had was our room was so-so-so far away. At least a five minute walk to the front lobby. We had to walk across a pedestrian bridge to reach our room in a second building across the street. You can walk from hotel to Mainz Old Town in around 15 minutes.
