Charming older mid-priced hotel with great amenities including very friendly service, a/c in rooms, nice terrace with flowers, koi pond, bar, highly rated restaurant, smoking lounge, minibar, good breakfast, and reasonably priced garage parking. It’s true the decor is quite dated but the bed was great, nice down comforter, and the room was quiet. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

“Nice hotel, but be aware of your surroundings.”

The hotel was very nice and we enjoyed our stay. My sister and I were traveling with our brother so it was great that he had his own room and we shared a bathroom in our own private space. The rooms were also quite large. We had a nice view of a Koi pond and our brother was on the street. You'll want ear plugs on that side for the Straßenbahn runs right outside your window. Even though we found the most incredible (upscale) food at restaurants in walking distance of the hotel, we didn't feel safe at all if you walk out of the hotel and turn left going downhill. Sex shops and things like that are only a block away. If you walk outside the hotel and go right, up the hill, then cross the street at the first Straßenbahn station, you will find some of the best authentic upscale Italian food restaurant. The receptionists were all very helpful and they had a nice elevator we took to our rooms. Both rooms had air-conditioning, but the AC in our brothers room was much cooler than ours. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of outlets. The bathroom was nice but we struggled with space for our toiletries and our makeup. They did have a great lighted magnifying mirror. The shower has a glass half wall in the tub which I don't love since it's easy for water to get out and into the floor. We didn't eat at the hotels restaurant since you needed reservations, but the receptionist didn't tell us this at check-in. Breakfast at this hotel is not included. If you choose to have their breakfast, it is 16 EU pp.

“Lots of Character - Solid choice for Hotel”

My stay here was pretty good. I thought the hotel was beautiful. I stayed in a "castle room" and it was decent size for one person. I found the shower strange with the glass partition over just half of it so a lot of water ends up on the floor. I think this is a Germany thing though because my next hotel in Munich had the same partition. Bed was soft and comfy, another Germany quirk is no top sheet but just a duvet. A/C worked well. Breakfast was just ok, lots of breads and cheese and the waitress asked if we wanted an omelette and it was a decent cheese omelette but honestly, we skipped the breakfast the second day because we were underwhelmed. The Koi pond in back was beautiful! A nice surprise. Parking was TIGHT so if you have bigger car good luck. Onsite parking was great to have though (for a fee). I didn't have an ipad in my room but my friend did and she said it didn't really do anything. I also didn't know I had a mini bar in my room until checkout... probably a good thing ;) All in all enjoyed my stay - staff was very friendly and made me feel welcome.

I found this hotel to be a bit of a mixed bag. First, the positives: It is immaculately clean The staff are all very pleasant The room is a decent size for a single The mattress is good The shower is good The air conditioning system works well There is a fridge in the room Now the not so positives... The whole place looked very old-fashioned. No lift up to higher floors I could hear every U-Bahn train going past even with the windows shut and my room was at the back of the property! The ceiling is so thin that I can hear the person upstairs receiving texts on their phone. Every time anyone from the floor above flushes the toilet, I can hear it in my bathroom! There is no tea & coffee facilities in the room - not even a kettle. You get one 500ml bottle of water free at the start of your stay - this is not replenished. The bedding consists only of a quilt which is not even as wide as the mattress & so slides around all night. The quality of the breakfast was fine, but 99% of hotels provide a buffet breakfast - here, you have to decide what you want the night before - you can either have meats and cheeses with a couple of bread rolls or you can have a jam, marmalade, honey, and Nutella with your bread rolls. You can also have one small coffee. If you want any more than this, you have to pay for each item. The hotel lists an iPad in each room - I was intrigued by this, but you can't actually do anything much with it - it exists to tell you various things about the hotel, allows you to order room service, and so on
