Stayed over 3 days in 2 rooms. Hotel well situated for local and onward travel. A misunderstanding following an early bag drop and check-in resulted in a change of room and the request for an additional, identical credit card holding charge . This caused our credit card provider to stop our card. This was resolved and confirmed with the manager, who was courteous and helpful, but it simply shouldn't have happened. We got a room upgrade, which was lovely. The rooms have every facility and are luxurious. The beds are blissfully comfortable. The choice at breakfast is wide, but you do feel shoe-horned into a corner of the hotel . The replenishment of foods, etc, tended to tail off towards the end of service. This was rectified very promptly on our last day when a very efficient lady came on the scene. We think the hotel is used more by the business community than leisure seekers. We have stayed in another Steigenberger hotel and will try again.

We had a very frustrating experience with Reservations. The week prior to our stay, we began getting emails about two room reservations. When we queried about why two rooms were booked, we were told that we had booked two non-cancellable rooms. Yet we had email confirmation of one cancellable room booked. It took multiple emails and phone calls to try to resolve this issue. And even after receiving written confirmation that the issue had been caused by some sort of change-over in the reservation systems, we were still assessed a cancellation charge as we checked out! Fortunately the front desk staff handled the issue professionally and reversed the cancellation charge once I showed them my email. It took way too much of our time dealing with what turned out to be an error on the hotel's end. Quite frankly, I feel we should have been compensated somehow for the amount of time we had to spend trying to resolve the issue. With all of this said, once we arrived at the hotel, the staff was outstanding and our room was very nice. I would stay at this hotel again, assuming the reservation issue that we experienced was a glitch.

“Rail Tour Stopover.”

On a grand rail tour heading to Italy. Used as a stopover. Nice hotel, good accommodation, quality rooms, staff very pleasant, and breakfast good. Great location for station. Would definitely use this hotel for a longer stay if ever in Stuttgart.

Decent hotel but not luxury. The staff though were as accommodating as they couldWe first booked a junior suite which was very nice but even with soundproofing, I’m a light sleeper and could still hear the traffic. They went out of their way to find us an inner room. It was smaller and not as grand but sleep was more important and it was very quiet. It is right in the heart of the city so location was spot on. There was no way to be able to adjust the cooling and windows barely opened. We did have someone look at it but I still have no idea what they did. I really don’t think they had air conditioning. I ended up buying a small fan for the room, it was a big help. I also had a hard time with them saying they had a “ business center “. I wanted to print some things out but they said only they could do it. Also thought there might be a center to which I could work but it was someone’s work desk and not amenable for someone else to work there. On our next visit will try somewhere else, especially in the summer.
