If you are arriving and/or leaving Munich by train this place is ideally located near the Hauptbahnhof. Stay in the pedestrian underpass and take the Bayerstrasse exit and you're basically at the door. Underneath are several food choices that actually take card. The kebab joint was a favourite. the rooms are clean and newly renovated and the staff pleasant with an easy checkin. I'd stay here again anytime I visit Munich. Great value too. Also, the windows have a roll down steel shutter that removes all street noise so don't be put off by the tram tracks right outside, you hear nothing and the room goes completely dark. I had wonderful sleep quality.

“Perfect Munich city break location”

We really enjoyed our stay here. LOCATION: The location was perfect! Right in the heart of it all! Very close to the subway entrances & trams. There is a direct train from the airport to Karlsplatz, you can take the S8 from Munich airport to the city. HOTEL: The hotel is modern and very very clean! We couldn’t fault it what so ever. There were fresh towels every day, the beds were made and the cleaner even folded our pjs and placed our little girls bunny in the bed for her. Very cute! The room was spotless and a really good size! We travelled with our 2 year old so pram space is sometimes a squeeze but we had no issues here! We stayed on floor 3 in room 308 and our room was huge. It had a huge double bed (I think it was actually bigger more like a queen) and also a single bed for our little one. It was brilliant. We had lots of wardrobe space and space for the pram. The bathroom consisted of a shower and toilet in 1 room and the sink was separate in the ‘entrance’ area. Again we couldn’t fault it. The only thing I would say is that the heather towel rack / radiator didn’t work unfortunately which meant we did need fresh towels each day as they didn’t dry. Our room was city facing and the view from our window was down to the Christmas market! Perfect. NEGATIVES / WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER: There wasn’t anything that we didn’t like. Although, it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room so we could make a drink whilst getting ready in the morning & the radiator working in the shower/toilet room. The pillows weren’t the greatest and that is my pet peeve when we travel, these pillows were really floppy and lumpy, I did wake through the night & in a morning with a stiff neck each day but it didn’t stop us from loving everything else. We are so glad we stayed at the hotel & would recommend it to all of our friends & family. TIP - if you choose not to get fresh towels and the room made up each day you get a free beer at reception. The cleaner leaves a beer token for you to redeem. Very good and nice eco idea.

How can you not like a hotel that gives you a pretzel and a beer at check in? I gave it 3.5 stars; it’s a fine place but many common (well, in the US) amenities are not provided: Facecloth, shampoo (liquid soap works), top sheet (the comforter works), phone, clock, USB port, safe, or pen. My room was very small with few shelves. It was fine for me traveling solo, two people would be a very tight squeeze. On the bright side, it’s safe, clean, and in a great location less than a block from the main station as well as the spots where tours begin. The Lufthansa Express bus stop is also close. They offer a nice breakfast for 14 Euros. TV and good Wi-Fi too. You get a free beer every day you decline maid service. There was plenty of hot water in the sink and the shower. Multiple electric plugs (bring a converter). It's on a main drag with streetside restaurants that may get loud after dark. However, I had an inside (garden) room and never heard a thing. I paid about $360/night during Oktoberfest, it worked fine for me. Another plus: I checked in about noon and my room was ready! This is not the JW Marriot or even a Fairfield Inn, but it was perfectly adequate for my four-night stay.
