“Modern Facilities, Excellent Location!”

Excellent location! A very easy walk to the S-Bahn, which will take you to Marienplatz and beyond in a matter of minutes. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, but there are a few restaurants and breakfast spots nearby that were convenient. The hotel itself is modern and the rooms were perhaps t… more

“Ups and downs”

The Hilton Munich City's location combines central concenience with proximity to neighbourhoods of a more local vibe. Even though emails in advance remained unanswered, welcome was friendly. The room was sufficient in size, nicely-decorated and clean, whereas water pressure in the shower was far… more

  • The top reviews of Hilton Munich City are: Myself and my husband visited this hotel at the end of November to visit the local Munich Christmas markets. We took the S8 Strassenbahn directly from MUN to the hotel. There is an S-Bahn station directly underneath it with access to the hotel via an elevator. Make sure you leave the platform via the Muffathalle/Gasteig exit and then follow the signs to the hotel. This is VERY handy. Marienplatz, where the main Christmas market is located, is two stops away from the hotel (Direction - Herrsching) or a pleasant 20 minute walk. There was also a really pretty but smaller market in Rosenheimer Platz itself. Check in was very easy and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. We upgraded to an executive room and had access to the executive lounge on the 5th floor. This was worth doing. A light breakfast was served from 7-10 every morning. Choices were plentiful and fresh (continually replenished until around 9:45, but the staff there advise when time is almost up) and the happy hour (5-7pm every evening) was fantastic. Beers and wines to choose from and a selection of nibbles/lite bites. The mini-sandwiches we had on our first night were AMAZING. There was a male member of staff there every evening and he was an absolute star - his customer service skills were great and he even dealt with a rowdy/obnoxious group of women very well. I am very disappointed I didn't get his name to mention. The room itself was spacious, with decent air-conditioning and a window that opened slightly. Bed was big and super-comfy. Pillows were decent too. There was a mini-fridge and ample tea and coffee (though the lounge had this too). The wardrobe was big with enough coat-hangers. A robe plus slippers were provided and the safe was great. There was a hairdryer, though I did not use it so can't comment on its power. The shower room was small but well-appointed. There was a non-fog mirror with light and a wall-mounted shaver mirror. The toiletries were from Bayliss and Harding (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash and hand lotion) and were of a good standard. Towels were big and replenished every day. The shower was powerful (if you know to push the button in and continue to twist the knob to increase the flow - I didn't on the first morning) and there was plenty hot water. The toilet itself had a very powerful flush, if that matters to you. We had a snack and drinks at the Juliet Rose bar a couple of nights, which were tasty and well-priced. If you like cocktails, this is a great place to go. ** Tip - I don't know why, but the 'old-fashioned' drinks tasted better when we were sat at the bar ** The ambiance of the bar is classy but casual. The decor is beautiful. If I ever visit Munich again, I would have NO HESITATION in staying here again as everything was perfect! 10/10.
