From the moment of check in, during the stay and on check out everyone was friendly and cared. Fantastic setup of room with kitchenette and stocked up with cutlery and crockery The bed was super comfy, bathroom wa I’m spotlessly clean and had required amenities Breakfast staff were friendly all throughout. Breakfast with various hot and cold buffet with juices, freshly made pancakes. The hotel is in walking distance to city centre and all major attractions including the Oktoberfest area. Highly recommended and see you next year! Prost !!

“Good breakfast, good location, cheap-feeling hotel”

High prices. Tooms feel cheap. Location is great but the rest is average. The rooms are modern but cheap materials are used. Ther are cracks in the walls and overall feeling is cheap hotel. I would give it a 3 star max. Parkinf is available with cost. Breakfast is ok

Just before we arrived at hotel, I got an email asking if I was interested in a PAID upgrade. Since we were literally an hour away, I figured I'd ask about it at the front desk. (NOTE: By paid, I mean for an extra $x per day we could get a larger room.) Upon arriving at hotel, the front desk clerk was brusque to the edge of rudeness. All business, not a single smile or welcome, and when I inquired about the upgrade offer I had just received via e-mail, she quickly cut me off and rudely snapped that they were sold out and had no upgrades available. Well, excuuuusee me for deigning to ask about YOUR hotel's offer, Fraulein! The room itself was spacious and upon first look, relatively clean. I liked they do not have carpet on the floor which IMO is nothing but a huge collector of dirt and smell in hotels. Upon closer look, the floor of the shower was quite smeared and gunky, and hadn't been properly cleaned. With such visible grime, I cleaned it myself to ensure we didn't pick up some toe/foot fungus. The kitchenette area in our standard room was nicely adequate - had a small fridge, a cooktop, a microwave, a dishwasher and in the closet we found a kettle and a toaster. There is NO coffee maker, however. All they give you is a couple of dehydrated coffee packs which you can add to hot water. While there is a fancy coffee/cappuccino/latte maker in the lobby, it is in no way convenient to get dressed, schlep all the way down there and then discover that there is no milk in the machine. This happened three times during our stay. So your choices are to have dehydrated coffee made with boiled water in your room, or take a chance and hope the machine in the lobby works. It is to be noted this hotel does NOT provide any kind of room cleaning other than once per week. So if you are there for five or six nights, you get nothing. That includes taking out the trash and no towel refreshing. Imagine rooms with kitchenettes, food waste and NO trash removal. Yep, you guessed it - you can expect fruit flies which we had. There was also an issue with little white gnats flying around, probably because previous guests had left the window open. While annoying, the bugs did seem to clear out after about a day of A/C use and keeping window closed. I must say the A/C seemed to work well but be advised that if you leave the room all the power shuts off when you take your card out of the slot, so when you return the room will be hot. They will give you fresh towels if you go down to the front desk. Which we had to do, as well as get a replenishment for our tissue and TP. As for towel quality, think Motel 6 type - thin, threadbare in places and grey-tinged. As for location, it really wasn't that great. Sure, there is a tram stop right outside the door and when it is running properly it is a breeze to use. However, during our stay, there were three days when the trams had significant delays and/or were completely stopped. Then your only option is to walk several blocks to where the S/U Bahn stations are. Not fun if it is pouring rain or late at night. The main Munich train station is a bit of a hike, and unless you are very fit and traveling light, you may find it quite a workout to walk the distance with luggage and I certainly wouldn't do it at night, due to some of the shady characters who tend to hang around the station. We took a cab and it was about 10 Euro - well worth it. The neighborhood itself is very sterile. There are virtually no cafes or restaurants within several blocks. Just a Subway and one coffee place which had odd hours. The breakfast at the hotel didn't look very inviting to me and I was glad we didn't pay for it - think along the lines of a roadside Hampton Inn free breakfast. The good news is there is a grocery store about a block away which was very convenient for picking up breakfast items, etc. There is a large beer garden/restaurant about a three quarters of a mile from the hotel, which is great if the weather is good and the trams are working. While our room was spacious, it seemed to be designed with only one person in mind despite the double bed. There is only one chair at the dining table. I looked in the closet and found a small wooden folding chair, otherwise one of us would have had to sit on an ottoman or on the couch. Speaking of furniture, both the fabric chair and couch could have used a good cleaning. All in all, I was not impressed with this first stay at a Citadines property. If you are American, I'd liken it to a mid-price roadside hotel chain with a more modern aesthetic. It certainly wasn't worth the price-point we paid $200+. For two-hundred plus a night, I don't expect to have to clear the room of annoying insects, clean my shower, go get my own towels and TP, take out my trash and drink boiled dehydrated coffee. Not to mention being treated like an unwelcome pest upon arrival. I'd say look elsewhere in Munich. We certainly will when we return.
