I was expecting a very average hotel based on reviews but we were very happy with the Welcome Hotel. The receptionists were friendly, the hotel reception was very nice, the breakfast buffet was very tasty and had premium items like jams, teas, etc. the restaurant was beautiful, esp the seats outside. The location of the hotel is unbeatable, with a parking just below the hotel (expensive at 15 euros a day, pay at the reception to pay a cheaper rate), and the elevator to Marburg upper town (old town) right opposite. Marktplatz is 2 mins away. The Junior suite was perfect for our family of 3: huge, with two separate sections. The sofa cum bed was quite hard, but our bed was comfy and the room had a walk in closet and coffee machine! The room was very modern. I had read many reviews about the AC not being effective but it was excellent. During the heat wave, we were very cozy in our perfect temperature room. I have only compliments for this place!

Hotel is 1 mile from Bahnhof on bus line. Across,the street is an elevator that takes you up 5 floors to the Altstadt center. Close to walkway along river Lahn. Hotel is 1 mile from Bahnhof on bus line. Across,the street is an elevator that takes you up 5 floors to the Altstadt center. Close to walkway along river Lahn. Staff was helpful with Restaurant and transport knowledge. Rooms are plain, but decent size, clean and comfortable. Our room was on inner courtyard, quiet, especially when we had AC running. In room coffee maker a plus. Shower was a bit tight, lights were dim. Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast had plenty of choices and well prepared. Filterkaffee on each table and other coffee or tea options available.

Great location if your visiting Marburg Germany. Walking distance for all attractions. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating, was that they are going through some remodeling. Great location if your visiting Marburg Germany. Walking distance for all attractions. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star rating, was that they are going through some remodeling. There was nothing mentioned on line when I booked the room, not sure I would have made it if we knew. Very loud during the day. Once they are finished good place to stay.

“2 Stars Hotel for 4 Stars price”

As I mentioned in the title you get 2 stars for 4 stars price. I stayed there 2 weeks. In the basic "4 stars room" is no: minibar, safe, wardrobe(only some rafts). As I mentioned in the title you get 2 stars for 4 stars price. I stayed there 2 weeks. In the basic "4 stars room" is no: minibar, safe, wardrobe(only some rafts). They changed the bed linens only once a week not as in the european standards for 4 stars hotels is (twice/week). Over my 2 weeks stay they didn't fill the soap dispenser at all, of course I run out of soap over the first 5 days. The hotel is situated front to the lift to the OldCity (Oberstadt Aufzug). I couldn't sleep till 1:30am, because there are allways noisy people on the streets, which are using the lift. Poor noise cancelling windows. +++ Let's mention also some positive things: friendly stuff, very good breakfast, central location.
