My wife and I stayed at this hotel with our kids about 15 years ago, and were excited to stay again when we revisited Heidelberg recently. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with an exceptional view of the Neckar and Alte Brucke. The hotel staff was very kind in assigning us a room with this view, it made our two night stay very memorable. The hotel itself is located in the perfect location for exploring Old Town, and still close to all the public transportation options, especially buses stopping at the Alte Brucke. There are a number of good restaurants within just a few blocks. Although we stayed in mid-May, the weather was still warm for us and we were grateful for the fan that was on the desk. The one thing I would recommend is to put a coffee maker or kettle in each room, for those of us who like just a coffee or tea for breakfast. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

From the moment we walked in the door we realized this hotel has a dream team of a staff. From the front desk, to the breakfast service, to room cleanliness all are outstanding. Then there is the location right overlooking the Old Bridge. You couldn't ask for anything more. When we come back to Heidelberg we will definitely stay here again.

“Heavenly Old Town. Cozy area with restaurants and Shopping lane. ”

Location is Best. Opp River and Old Bridge in Old Town area. Visiting Castle by Funicular is just 7 mins walk. No breakfast with room .it's chargeable 22 Euro. Many restaurant and Cafe near by. Thomas , Ninad GRUN, at Night Stephan are helpful

Check-in was easy & quick--other hotels should take note. The hotel staff are wonderful, all very helpful. The lift is a good size, which fits several people and their luggage. Some rooms have a couple of hallway steps to go up or down but that's not a struggle at all. Our room this time faced the river, which was a bit noisier but the view was nice. The bed (or beds since they are they two pushed together to create one large bed) was comfortable. Each nightstand had a power outlet--perfect for two people to charge devices at bedside. The room had a mini fridge/minibar, which was a nice addition. The bathroom had a shower/tub combo. The water pressure was ok but the water leaked onto the floor no matter the position of the shower head or how closed the slim glass door. The towels were soft & thick--thank you! There was a wall-mounted magnifying mirror, which would have been a fantastic bonus but the mechanism was broken so it only faced down--that's fine if you're only 4' tall but not good for the rest of us. The bathroom had a noisy ceiling fan wired into the light switch so it could not be turned off separately. The fan did absolutely zero to eliminate shower steam; it only created noise pollution. The hotel does not have parking but you can park in front to briefly load your luggage. Parking is in the P12 garage, which takes only a few minutes to walk back to the hotel. Be sure to get a validated ticket card at the hotel for a discount on parking. I've stayed here before and might stay again, despite the minor issues.
